Westwood at world number 1 is a joke. Remind me again what he has won this year. Kaymer would be a much more credible number 1

Rankings cover a spread of two years I believe -and are set up to achieve a measure of consistency .
The rankings are the same for everyone so if they say Westwood is No.1 -then he is.
Even if only for a week -it's a nice boost to the CV and he can say as the song says ...
''They can't take away from me".

There should be a prov world ranking based on 3-4 month form.

No I don't agree downallstar, form is much harder to maintain over 2 years especially in golf. Where was Kaymer 18 months ago? Where will he be in 18 months time.

Hatama, I meant you have a prov ranking aswell as the current format, not instead.
Think they have or had it in snooker, lets you know who is form this season.

Westwood has consistently proven he hasnt got the bottle to win a big one in my opinion. Agree hes a nice bloke and a great pro but he will never be a worthy world number one until he gets the monkey off his back and wins a major championship
