australia dont have this in the bag by any means.. for all their good play , australia only won by 7 which is incredible given how dominant they were.. they let ireland back into it..
Ireland are very lucky to be only 7 behind as they were clearly the inferior team
but they are only 7 points behind, all they need is a goal and a few points.
surely they cant play as badly as they did in the first match.
they will be much more fired up for this as the players realise they played poorly in the first game and so i think they will make the extra effort to make amends.
i think you will see a big change in the Irish team next week, they realise that in order to win they have to score a few goals... i think they will play much better..
of course the aussies may also be better aswell... but you can get 11/4 with V-sea for ireland to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat and i think they have a good shout...as i said a couple of goals is all it takes to turn the series on its head.
11/4 has to be value, i ain't trying to stir thing but it's gaelic football played for 10 minutes longer with extra goal posts. Jeez Australia beat Ireland 0-14 to 1-8 on gaelic scores the other night surely that won't happen again.

Going by the last ten minutes on Sat. night Ireland would be great value alright. Dodgy bet though, despite what the forum idiot rocket/tubbsy says the rules do in general favour the Aussies.
It is more or less Aussie Rules with a round ball and as most balls that we (aussies included) are given to play with since we are about one year old are generally round, it can't be that bloody hard for an Aussie professional footballer given two full weeks training to adapt the game of his profession to one!

i got the 11-4 with C.handler which isnt on offer now, but you can get 5-2 with lads, and a few other firms..
theres simply no way Ireland will play as poorly as that again..they will have learned from their mistakes..
some of the shooting from Ireland was truly awful... tommy walshe and kennelly both missed easy 3 pointers
if you think about it,its only half time and theres only a goal in it..
2 goals from Ireland and its all changed...their pride has been hurt.. expecxt them to up it a gear in croke park

We are actually only 2 (GAA) points & a close wide ball behind on the scoreboard so you would hope that our lads will improve their shooting for Sat. Read that we kicked 10 behinds (wides in GAA) so there is some hope there.

I fancied the aussies for the whole series and backed them in their match last Saturday but 11/4 ireland now looks a good bet.
I know ireland are lucky to only lose last week by 7 points. They might play better this week but lose by more. But if you were betting in running on the upcoming game and getting ireland at 11/4 being down by 7 points after a minute it looks a good bet.

I dont think the rules suit Australia at all over ireland. If they did Ireland would not have a chance. As it is most of these matches are close to even money games in betting anyway.
Ireland have a HUGE advantage when it comes to the oval ball which makes up for several other parts of the hybrid game tha suits Australia. It easy enough to learn how to kick an oval ball but a different thing when it comes to being able to score accurately especially from distance when you have not a mark.

Tony......the man asked a question and my opinion is Brogan is our best chance of goals.....he won't do the graft but he will feed of the breaks..........I know you are only referring to my comment about him last week.

There seems to be waaaaaay too much emphasis placed on goals by punters and journos. People get carried away by the fact it's 6 points. It's a lot easier to get two "overs" than a goal. Imagine if a goal was only worth 2 points in Gaelic football....?

Its hard to compare different generations in Gaelic football but i have long thought the last 5 years has seen some extremely mediocre football. The last 2 weeks have confirmed that the ball skills of the majority of these Irish players are very low. Their inability to catch simple balls and to kick pass more than 30 yards is a shocking indictment of coaching standards.
Aussies have been far superior.

Aussies went to sleep for most of the last quarter and still made it look easy.
Can I put together a few lads from my park and challenge Ireland next week please?

Agree with you Brave re general standard having deteriorated . Put a lot of that down to the infernal progress up/across field using the handpass . Discourages kicking accurately .
Ireland only played well in the last quarter tonight when Benny Coulter was involved a lot , as was Kevin McKernan . The series also proved again to me that All-Star awards aint worth a can of beans sometimes . Canty vs McKernan , not a race for the centre half spot , McKernan played the football throughout the championship , Canty got the All-Star . Tonight just reinforced that view .
Did not follow the series except to watch most of the 2 matches , but I cant believe that Irelands best 15 were involved for most of the series . There seemed to be a lack of cohesion among the Irish squad , possibly due to inability of some players to play football as defined by Brave . Reckon Jacko and Co would have beaten the Aussies easily , but that was 20 years ago vintage .

The convicts that Jacko & Co played couldnt kick like the current crop.
Australia should have won the series more convincingly, the first test last quarter fight back by Bernard covered up a few cracks.

ud wonder about tohills ability as a manager when niall mcnamee was left sitting on his arse for most of the 2 games.this guy is a lethal player in around goal and croke park would have suited him perfectly
