5:20 Our Victoria ew - looks a decent prospect and was beaten by in a good mares bumper in April.  Has won two races between the flags and her runner-up position in a Castletown-Geoghan winners race 10 days ago.  That race was the second fastest of the day and 22 seconds quicker than the Open (winner in OV's race carried 12-0, OV carried 11-9, Open winner carried 12-0).  The winner of OV's race was winning his third race on the spin, the third (12 lengths behind Our Victoria) was beaten a length last weekend in a winners of one and she represents a top stable in this.

Agree Our Victoria the NAP. Anyone any word on Eddie Hales runnner? Can ready one in fairness
Report ChildOfMine2 October 13, 2010 1:36 PM BST
The NAP has to be Voler La Vedette. People were considering her as a serious Champion Hurdle prospect last season so she should be a model for this. And Colm Murphy has said that she's in very good form too [:)]
Report Swinia October 13, 2010 1:57 PM BST
I'm keen on Gudnis Gracious me to place in the mares hurdle at over 2/1. She's only 5 and looks like she's an improving type and has enjoyed a very good summer campaign. With the ground perfect for her she's likely to go on in front and make it a test of stamina. She beat St. Devote (rider stole a few lengths on the off) LTO and he smashed a decent field in Listowel LTO....

I also had Rightoeus Man down as one to follow this season but he has disappointed somewhat. Its worth bearing in mind what Lyons yard thought of him last year ......"He's a lovely horse. He doesn't even know he is a colt," said Shane Lyons, brother of the winning trainer.

"He'll be a trip horse next year. He's holding his coat well and if there is another race for him he could come back here.

"We're looking forward to running him over a trip next year and he could be one for premier handicaps. He has all the credentials to get 1m2f or 1m4f."
With a pipe opener on the flat he looks of interest with BJG on board

p2p have a fleet of p2p maiden winners to run this season under rules. The main two for me are Last Installment and First Lieutenant. I know workrider that he may not have been the most visually impressive in victory today I'm pretty confident that FL is a 140 horse at least. Your right Princess D'Anjou Si C'etait Vrai has the makings of a decent type judging by his bumper run. Rathlin is another horse who will win plenty races. I urge anyone looking for horses to follow to have a look at the 4yo maiden in Lemonfield this year. The only three runners who completed the course to have run in p2p's since all won (the 6th, 7th and 8th finishers). It will prove a very fruitful source of winners between the rails in the future. I would also suggest that people have a look at the Emma Lavelle stable tour in the post tomoro. She has a stable chock full of winners for the coming season.

Congratulations on your tipping 5 of the 7 winners today thatsurcoco. This has come on the back of a number of other informative selection lists in recent weeks. The quality of tipping on here definitely goes into the ascension when the jumps get going.

allduck , i was talking about him in the paddock , he got a little warm and was on his toes a bit , not always a good sign , especially as it was a cold enough day down there . his attitude on the track was commendable , as having looked sure to be beaten he stayed on really well ... did he show any signs of temperment in p2ps allduckornodinner ?
Report Allduckornodinner October 13, 2010 7:35 PM BST
No workrider it was pretty clear sailing for him when he won in Kilfeacle, put the race to bed very quickly. Similar to what he did when winning his bumper in gowran park. He wouldn't be fully wound up yet giving his connections plus they walked for the most part which didn't suit him and the ground was plenty lively enough for him. When he gets to come off the pace in a strongly run race you will see a different horse. DOC has ridden a ton of good horses and when he really rates one then they are generally something special. I wouldn't have any worries about his temperament anyway.
Report workrider October 13, 2010 7:39 PM BST
fair enough allduck , i'll keep that in mind , there will be a few withdrawls tomorrow as the ground is pretty fast atm .

17:15 - The Fox's Frolic.  Won six races between the flags thus far in his career, had three quiet runs over fences in Beginners races and a race that put him spot on at Rathcannon (Sky's The Limit in behind though undoubtedly improved massively for the run). The winner of that was a useful horse under rules and makes his handicap debut in this QR race for joint-Champion Lady rider Liz Lalor off just 92.  The one they all have to beat, big prices have gone but still some 11/2 around.

Yes you are right booby.s Ballymak was put down from what I can remember. Pity as he could have been a decent class stayong chaser.

Tricky day today but the bet for me has to be Sizing Europe. I can see him getting the trip today no problem and at 4/6 or better he is a punt in my eyes.

Just a word of caution with The Fox's Frolic Princesse D'Anjou. He turned a little bit iffy towards the end of last season after taking a pearler of a fall one day and I would just have a qustion mark over his attitude at times.

If any of you are into golf there looks to be a very good betting opportunity in the Frys.com Open which starts today. The evens on Rickie Fowler to beat Troy Merrit and Tim Petrovic in their opening day threeball looks a stonking bet as highlighted by Steve Palmer in todays RP.

I have to agree with The Fox's Frolic. Thrown in at the weights. His last run was in an open Point to Point where he finished second, beaten a length by Gaspar (a Grade 3 chase winner and consistant performer in points) with Sky's the Limit behind in fourth. Good lady jockey on board, will love the ground and trip. 11/2 is very good value

The handicap hurdle is a very tricky race. Sinbinned was heavily backed last time out (14/1 - 9/2). I can see this one being well backed again with R. Walsh on board but my preference is for The Legislator each way at 16/1. This one was given a nice handicap rating, is very lightly raced and has improved everytime it has run.

You could argue the same about Luska Lad (1/3-4/6) today and Voler Le Vedette (odds on-6/4) yesterday. Swings and roundabouts lads. The only thing I will say about todays race is that ruby was using his brain and Andy Lynch looked after Sizing as best he could. I wouldn't right the horse off after today anyway. He has generally always been at his best after christmas anyway.

Was always the danger, It was worth the risk at the price imv.

When Kicking King stepped up to 3miles for the first time at Down Royal he was giving a similar ride, won the King George 2 runs later.

Best Mate was also beaten first time over the trip, in the KG, he was riden to get the trip, connections admitted straight away they messed up. Won the Gold Cup next time out.

Sizing was riden to get the trip, he was also not as fit as a very good winner.
Report punchestown October 15, 2010 11:34 AM BST
All things being considered the Gold Cup trip & course are very unlikely to suit on all know evidence about S E.
I think connections are making a huge mistake with the horse going this route Sad as there's plenty of Grade 1's to be won with this horse elsewhere.
Report Giant Strides October 15, 2010 12:50 PM BST
I`m struggling to see the correlation between Kicking King failing to beat BOS at a soggy Down Royal then hacking up around a fast track on good ground and yesterdays race down.
Riding horses to get a longer trip applies more to larger fields. Yesterdays race looked the perfect opportunity to use his speed if he really did get it. He must have has a good blow afterwards.
Personally speaking, I think he`s a hugely overrated animal. Not a fan.
