it was always on the cards that the wheels would come off once a few players were unavailable. That was well flagged up by even the most optimistic of supporters early in the season.
The prolonged absence of Burns, then Melligan leaving, followed by Fenn has really ripped the spine from the team.
I thought Melligan was on course to win the league's player of the year.
Foster was great while the sun shone on his back, we'll see what he's made of now the grey days are here.
The current Dundalk squad can really only be considered above Drogs, Bray and arguably UCD at the moment. Though UCD have players to return.
6th would be an achievement now for Dundalk.

Bohs will hammer us on Friday by at least two goals if we preform anything like we did tonight. The performance was shocking, no width, no motivation and no idea what to do with the ball other than hoof it up to the two strikers. Normally I wouldn't agree with sacking a manager mid season, but I think GM and the board should take action before it's too late. Tonight's game reminded me of a first division match and if there isn't a drastic change at Oriel then there is a good chance we might have to get used to the idea of first division football(again).
Regarding Melligan, I thought he was excellent at the start of the season but as the games rolled by he seemed to loose his flare (maybe because he knew he was departing)
I actually think we have a decent enough team on paper, but the players hearts do not seem to be in it, this combined with the wrong formation is a recipe for both disastrous performance and results

its worse than last season,at least then u didnt know what was going to happen a 3.1 win or maybe a 5.0 defeat, but this season you just know its gonna end in tears.

Bit harsh lads. You were top for a while. When did that last happen? Any team would miss Burns. He may be a #anker but he`s one of the best centre halfs in the LOI. I doubt Fenns antics did much for morale either. Btw, we couldn`t hammer waysidewills underage team at present so you shouldn`t be that worried about Friday.

^Every time there is a LOI thread some asrehole makes a post like this. The prick has prolly being at 10 or less senior games in his life and he thinks he knows something about football.

Couldn't agree with you more rock piper. Clowns likes this and their "contributions" have run so many good lads off the forum over the years. On the Dundalk situation ,saw them play Fingal last week and they played really well first half and could have gone in 2 up. I believe they were unlucky to lose to Bohs last night . When things are going against you nothing breaks for you.Don't think Ian Foster will be sacked as he has a two year contract and it will cost the club .

Dundalk put in a very good performance against Bohs last night and deserved at least a point. I think their second goal should have stood but I'll have to wait to see MNS to confirm. They had good sense of urgency and desire about themselves, something they need to maintain because they have a big month ahead of them, their next games against Bray and the Drogs will be a crucial point in the season. You make the trip to Oriel GS?

I didn`t kd. The first time I didn`t since we last won there. I think I`d better stay away in furure! My friends who were at it said we couldn`t get out of our half most of the time but for once we took our chances. Every team has a bad patch. Some longer than others. You`re sure to come out of it soon judging by that performance.
