But should he not be watching some gaelic games? Not much of an example to the GAA fans around the country although hard not to watch the games.

Nah not true, he more or less said he watched every game. I found it shocking that hardcore GAA fans even watch soccer or at least admit to watching it.

Everybody has watched a World Cup game, sports fan or not, but its mostly accidental.

Basically flick around stations during ads, see soccer match with buzzing horns, leave it on for few minutes. Stay with it for ten minutes or so, no goals, no shots on target, guys falling over every 20 seconds, constant drone in background. Turn over watch original programme.

Big soccer fan when younger, played at a decent level - Collingwood Cup, Connacht Senior League, AUL in Dublin never thought I'd see the day i'd watch cricket before a world cup match; but has came to pass. Well mostly because of Betfair - T20 cricket is superb, Soccer is a snoozefest.

Rocketfingers

Have you watched any yet?

More than likely Spillane has been watching both.

GAA and football - both involve two teams showing skill kicking a ball to the other end to achieve a goal or as in GAA, a point as well. Surely most people who follow sport, would find both interesting to watch.

Are there still neanderthals out there who just will not football the beautiful game because it's a "garrison" sport. FFS.

Jumper, you've misunderstood the original post a bit. As regular posters on the forum would know, Rocketfingers (or workrider as he normally calls himself) is the most anti GAA person on here, he is a neanderthal but in the opposite of your interpretation as he sees nothing only soccer. His original post is just his usual anti-GAA, childish attention seeking.
