I fancy Dalghar to run a big race in the Queen Anne Stakes. Relatively unexposed, the trainer has a great record in England with 4 wins and 11 places from 22 runners over the last 5 years. Should certainly sneak a place anyway.
I also think Dick Turpin has a great chance in the St James's Palace Stakes. Has already beaten Canford Cliffs twice this season and although CC has probably/possibly improved past him at this stage, I can't see DT being too far away at the finish.
I'm backing both as each-way singles and also an each-way double.

As green as grass on debut - ignore
Nto at Nottingham was well backed and improved massively for the experience of that first run, stil looked green and raced slightly keenly, should be a stronger pace on tomorrow which should suit even more and the form of that run looks ok
Trade Storm 2nd - won a Newbury maiden nicely nto Excelebraation 4th - won easily at Doncaster nto Roayh 5th - comfortably won a Leicester maiden nto
Obviously there is a lot of big reputations in this race but at 40/1 e/w defo worth a few shillings for me
Metropolitan Man in the last back to lay, backed at 2/1, lay i/r around 1.6 hopefully, won very easily on debut, de horse he beat by 10l won by 12l nto

I think Ballydoyle's season starts today. I think if RIP is fit, he's a certainty in the Queen Anne. I give Steinbeck a big shout in the St James's Palace, altho Canford Cliffs will be very hard to beat, and Samuel Morse will win the Coventry even tho Murtagh is on Zoffany!

Fair play lads. Some good research. Always respect Dupre but I think his one today is Siyouni. Comfortably won the Jean Luc from top animals and jock was caught napping in the Fontainbleu. Could be worth forgiving his French Guineas defeat. The Queen Anne looks at the mercy of the fav but Ascot is a funny place and she`s a bit of a funny mare. I was planning on backing but if RVW is ready (surely he`s ready by now Aidan!) then he can defo win. The Prince of Wales looked easier so for me it`s a positive that he takes his chance here. Jarvis in the Coventry for me. Oor Jock looked an improver for Weld last day. Big step up in the last though. Best of luck all and enjoy.

Goldikova has all the stats to defy but she's an exceptional mare and one i'll be siding with
Ryan Moore on Samuel is a positive for me, doesn't know the horse but will ride with his instincts and i believe this "beautifully bred individual" is a cracking ew shout....
Off chance in the 5.15 in Thirsk the nap of the day

horses not good enough imo .you cant have a stable full of top class horses every year having said that rip ran to bad to be true even needing the run ,so something defo wrong in stable .

Some incredibly bad rides there today. Lemaire in the James`s. Hughes is very lucky he has good horses to sit on Hills in the last. How many more times?

i had two coolmore jacket lads in my taxi this morning to dublin airport i believe one was the lad with the gamblerfalls blog other one works for tabor he told me. they said my username was better than johnnys mount. said steinbeck is overated and rip wasn't ready for a g1. gave me starspangledbanner when i asked for a winner and one of them can't remember which was sweet on age of aquarius. both seemed in happy spirits with no hype. i think we're expecting to much. more than they are .

Race 1) Goldikova. Peslier masterful judge of pace.
Race 2) Equiano. Head and shoulders above the rest.
Race 3) Canford Cliffs. Hughesy at his cheekiest best.
Race 4) Strong Suit. One crack of the whip by Richard Hills would have got this one home.
Race 5) Junior. Sanders needed that to get back in the limelight. Berry has been riding brilliantly. This was just unfortuneate. Joseph O'Brien has been racking up the winners too.
Summary. The big guns were left on the sidelines. Stoute/O'Brien/Godolphin and jockeys, Murtagh/Moore and Frankie.

I take it you had a few winners! My assessment of the first would be very different. It was the mare that won it, not Peslier. She was left in front at the 2 pole and that didn`t suit her one bit. I think she pulled out more when she realised something was coming at her. Brilliant horse.

BOOKMAKERS estimated that the most punishing Royal Ascot of modern times may have cost the industry as much as £50 million as the five-day meeting ended on Saturday evening.
After the Jeremy Noseda-trained Laddies Poker Two had landed a massive gamble in the Wokingham Stakes, following the earlier Saturday successes of the well-backed Harbinger and Starspangledbanner, punters were lording it over the old enemy. "It has been carnage," said Coral spokesman Dave Stevens, summed up the misery among bookmakers.
From day one of the meeting on Tuesday punters held the upper hand, and Saturday's results were the icing on the cake.
Laddies Poker Two, a 16-1 chance earlier in the week, was backed down to 9-2 favourite having been a morning price of 10-1.
Harbinger easily won the Hardwicke Stakes as odds-on favourite, and Starspangledbanner justified massive support by leading all the way to win the Group 1 Golden Jubilee Stakes.
Stevens said: "All in all it has been a Royal Ascot for bookmakers to forget. Across the five days it wouldn't be unrealistic to say the industry has lost somewhere around £50 million so from our point of view, we were probably the only people cheering when England didn't win last night."
It was the latest setback in what is turning out to be a disastrous year for the layers - and for racing with its ten per cent take of gross profits - after the cost of Tony McCoy's historic first victory with Don't Push Itin the Grand National was put at £10 million although results did go their way at the Cheltenham Festival.
"It's swings and roundabouts," added Stevens, "but while it was a bad Aintree, it was nothing on the scale of this week.
"Royal Ascot is the biggest betting meeting of the year, and it has been nothing short of disastrous."
Ladbrokes spokesman, David Williams, commented: "It has been the worst Royal Ascot of the modern era. The first day was dreadful, the next three days were very similar, and today has just been the square root of terrible quite frankly. It must have cost the industry tens of millions.
"Harbinger, Starspangledbanner and Laddies Poker Two were terrible results, all I can say is thank God for the England football team."
Over the five days there were 13 winning favourites, with only six of the 30 winners returned at double-figure odds.
"What is it about Ascot?" said William Hill spokesman David Hood. "For some bookies the five consecutive losing days for 2010, will make the infamous Dettori day look like a round of drinks."
