Stolen a years subcription from my bank account €208 and refusing to refund, no interest in the "package" since they lost Racing UK and have since re subscribed to racing UK.

Customer services person point blank refusing to cancel or make any refund stating I agreed to the terms in 2005.

A desperate company obviously trained to steal. Pathetic

dlarrson. any advice with how I win this?

Some rude scottish fellow basically sticking two fingers at me, no correspondance or notice that this money would be coming out- surely I can get this back somehow?

mate I would love to advice you but I don't know the full circumstances in your case so I wouldn't want to mis advice you.

They basically took money of me that they shouldn't and it took a solictor's letter ( a mate of mine ) to get it back.  They **** themselves ( like most companies ) if they think they will have to go to court and it could cost them extra hassle etc.

First thing I would do though , is tell your bank under no circumstances to give them any money etc

Thanks lads, think I have an out if the bank will bounce the direct debit (only came out friday), if not ill go down the letters route.

I actually said to the man,"look ill pay for a month, switch me off now and refund the rest", he point blank refused.

They must be on there knees... Like I would pay 200 a year for the odd magiers league game .. the rest is already on the terrestrial channels.

When you first subscribed, you must have agreed to pay a full year in advance (to avail of some kind of offer?)

And every year since, they have taken a full year out in advance?

Assuming you paid a full year in June of 2009, did you inform them at any stage in the interim that you would not be renewing in 2010 when the year was up?

It seems a lot of people have had problems with them

I know when I tried to get rid of them, I was on a monthly payment and I lost 2 months while trying to cancel it, I didn't bother chasing up on it - too much bother, I just gave up when I finally had them cancelled.

You only have yourselves to blame imo. It's easy to cancel these things ahead of time and should have started by cancelling with your bank.

ricky, I thought when they went belly up that was the end of it, incorrectly assumed I would have to re-subscibe if I wanted it.

should have cancelled dd agreed, just an oversight

They're nearly as bad as a certain Irish bookmaking Firm. Getting a fair hearing from either is unlikely. They obviously follow the same principle when it comes to customer relations and service. In fact if it were'nt for the Scotish accents you'd swear you were talking to the same group.
