The ground in Roscommon was dangerously firm but yet their was only one non-runner excluding the reserves. Deer Daylami was killed, while Dancing Hero was badly injured.

Meanwhile numerous trainers pulled their horses out at Kilbeggan on Saturday on ground that was probably safer than Roscommon tonight.

Could someone tell me why was this the case?

Is it just Kilbeggan is seen as a dangerous, tight track by many or what is the story?

Kilbeggan has a bad history when it comes to the state of its ground!

Because of the work on the drainage the coarse at Kilbeggan hasnt looked pretty for the 1st 2 meetings. However it was only good-firm. E O grady took out his horses & other top trainers saw fit to follow suit. Willie Mullins took out his 2 but wasnt there (Gary & Patrick were). Noel Meade was there & ran his horses.
