What a mess he got himself into when getting Daliyra beaten in this handicap! The horse to be fair broke well and then jockey takes a big pull and horse ends up towards the rear of the field. No room up the inside and then switches to outside where she misses with a rattle. With a decent ride Id say she would have won handy.

Agree all round, Dalyria in partic was a shocker. No Horse came up the outside to win today, all hard against the rail.

Oxx will not win his quota win Fran in the Saddle I am saying it all year

Average jockey-no more,no less and is not good enough to fill Mickey Joes boots (no bet or no axe to grind).

Tactically naive a lot of the times and not great in a driving finish.

To say that FB is tactically naieve is untrue imo. Was he not the first to latch onto the advantage of the stands rails when the going was soft/hvy in Leop? imo he is one of the few jockeys that actually uses his brain. Most of them boys are afraid to use theirs presuming of course they have one.

Fran has one bad day at the office, and suddenly gets slated. He has been riding very well all year. This "jockey bashing" should be left to the clowns on Horse Racing forum imo, unless its Barry Connell of course Laugh

Tactically naive is one way of describing the guy. I'd be more likely to refer to him as brutal. He makes way too many errors for a man with one of the top jobs in racing. Looks good when he gets it right but he gets it wrong far too often.

Laugh a sensible post from the galwayman...my good he must have got laid and rid himself of all that anger Confused

He knows the score, he gets the women and he kills the bad guys.

Fran gave his winner the 1/1 jolly a very astute ride from the front. Not many jockeys would be be able to do that over a mile and 5.
The ground was very firm and maybe Dalyra didn't like it at first but warmed up as he got used to it.
