different team in august/september

I think its fairly obvious that cody isnt interested in the league this year and i wouldnt blame him, all they are are glorified challenge matches, and a lot of that kilkenny team has been around a while so i reckon this could be a masterplan from cody. come september kilkenny will be hitting their peak i reckon unlike last years all ireland final where they werent at their brilliant best

Two ways of looking at it, Cody doesn't like losing any matches....and he'll be disappointed with some of the newcomers. Only really John Mulhall has made an impact.

Has to be said that the forward line will have a completely different look to it come championship time and that'll bring about a huge improvement.

Cody doesn't like to lose any game but in a way this campaign takes a little of the pressure off them. Anyway, I don't think the edge that they had was just an air of supremacy. They had a greater work ethic and tenacity than any other County with all the skills and more to go with it.

The other Counties have had to up their own games and they seem to have raised their standards. I never bought into the common belief (or at least common in one County) after last years final that Kilkenny and Tipp were way ahead of the rest. Galway, Cork and Waterford have all the necessary artillery to turn either of them over in a one off.

This year is one to look forward to (Cork v Tipp stands out as an early cracker) but if Sheflin hits the kind of form that he produced in the Semi Final last year Kilkenny would still blow away any of them.

an all ireland is won in september not in march!

the best team last year lost the all ireland final but its a sign of greatness that the kilkenny team (with a little help) pulled it out of the fire last year. in saying that, and i believe they will be there come august/september, but i think Galway have a great chance this year. i have backed them before todays result so it makes no bearing on my thoughts.

i was down in parnell park today also. a poor enough game. dublin had chances to at least get a draw out of it but cork did not look like losing all the same. kilkenny would probably have liked a run in the leagu but it will not bother them. looks to be cork/tipp/galway final and all depends on how cork get on against the 2 of them. will make for an interesting league final if its cork/tipp! 3 games in a row in a matter of weeks.

kk05 - i am on the same line of thinking as you with regards kk/tipp being ahead of the rest. last year cork could have beaten tipp only for a very poor last quarter. the year before cork missed a load of chances against kk when they outplayed them and ultimately paid the price. this was when they were in turmoil. this year could be more interesting. galway have now settled fully into leinster and i think that they may just go all the way this year. they have the team to do it anyway

could not judge that kilkenny team atm alot of big stars still to come back eddie brennan, Martin Comerford, Sheffflin, Cha Fitz, Noel Hickey, Mic Kavanagh, TJ reid and Eoin larkin still to hit form.

Cannot judge a team by matchs in March, Come august kilkenny will be hitting top gear and i can only see Tipp or galway going to be any way near them

who will stop them ?

So we have lost two games by a couple of points with 14 men. Lost another game in Tipp without all the Ballyhale contingent.

A lot of the bigs guns have been missing.

And now we can put to be for once and all the nonsense that the 2nd best team in ireland was the kilkenny b team as has been proved clearly.

The league has proved great for hurling.

But I'm still relaxed. The 5 in a row will be awful tough but maybe this league campaign is exactly what we need. Better to get beatings now then come May through to September.

All i said was instead of kilkenny walloping every team in ireland league and championship in last couple of years teams will walk onto the pitch with the feeling we can beat them, kilkenny have been the best hurling team i have seen
