Anyone else use a card of this type?

My laser card just expired and Ulster Bank are only issuing VISA debit cards as replacements.

However I am being charged a 1.5% credit card fee by Betfair when I make a deposit with the debit card.

I've queried it with Betfair but I'm just wondering if anyone else had the same issue and what the outcome was?

Thanks in advance.

It doesn't say Electron anywhere on the card

It has the word "VISA" and the symbol in the top right-hand corner and then the word "debit" printed underneath.

Is an Electron card different?

visa electron card now attract a charge on ryanair since the end of last year. Beftfair has always charged 1.5 % for Visa debit cards. Laser is the only one thats "free"

be careful with mbna credit cards as the now deem betting transactions to be cash withdrawals and charge accordingly.
