It'll take Mowbary some explaining in the press room after this debacle ... surely at this stage, time and excuses have finally caught up with him.... At this moment and time I'd take Staunton or Givens over him...
He wont survive an utter humiliation like that - he will be lucky to get out of Glasgow alive i would have thought! Truly dreadful manager. I will be glad to see the back of him. The team he put out tonight was the most unbalanced team i have ever seen in my life at any level. Dark days.

Andy Dorman and Steven Thomson bag double strikes as St Mirren record their first ever win against Celtic in the Scottish Premier League.
considering St Mirren must have been a team difficult to motivate after their narrow cup defeat on sunday it was some performance by them...
Only small solace is Rangers are out of the cup... that said the mighty Ross County must be licking their lips at meeting celtic in the semi...

Gone? Celtic boss Tony Mowbray edges closer to the sack after St Mirren mauling By STEPHEN MCGOWAN Last updated at 12:14 AM on 25th March 2010 Comments (0) Add to My Stories
[i]Beleaguered Tony Mowbray last night accepted full responsibility for Celtics worst league defeat in 30 years. The Parkhead manager is clinging to his job by the fingertips this morning after a 4-0 humiliation at the hands of relegation threatened St Mirren. The Paisley side recovered from the heartache of a Co-operative Insurance Cup Final defeat to nine man Rangers by claiming their biggest win over Celtic in 51 years.
Down and out: Celtic boss Tony Mowbray saw his side's faint title hopes all but disappear Andy Dorman and Steven Thomson claimed two apiece after Mowbray went for broke by throwing six attackers on the field at the death. Heavy defeats to Rangers aside, last night ranked as the worst defeat since a 5-1 thrashing to Dundee in 1980, with Celtic leaving the field to boos from their own supporters. Accepting the blame for a 13th defeat in all competitions this season, a crestfallen Mowbray said:

03 Mar 12:23 Paul Lambert has quelled talk of him returning to Celtic to replace under pressure Tony Mowbray in the near future - or at any time in his career. The Norwich City manager, who captained the Hoops' 2003 Uefa Cup final losing team, says that the thought of managing in a stale Scottish Premier League holds no appeal to him.
Many Celtic fans have talked up the chance of their former midfield stalwart, a Champions League winner with Borussia Dortmund, returning after cutting his managerial teeth in the English leagues with the Canaries, Colchester United and Wycombe Wanderers.
His Norwich team are currently leading the way in a competitive League One following their relegation last campaign. With promotion a strong possibility, the 40-year-old is forging a strong reputation for himself in England and has disappointed a hopeful Parkhead support by saying that the lack of competition in the SPL is partly to blame for his desire to manage outside of his home country.
"I had eight terrific years at Celtic but there comes a time when you have to cut your ties," Lambert told the Daily Record. "I still look for Celtic's result and Seville will always remain the biggest disappointment in my football career. But the idea of coming back doesn't appeal to me.
"I mean no disrespect to Scottish football but England is just a bigger place. I'm proud of my Scottish heritage but a move back home is not for me.
"The idea of playing the same club anything from four to six times a season doesn't appeal to me."
Lambert has previous SPL management experience, having set Livingston on their way to relegation in 2005 following a disastrous reign in what was his first job as a manager. During his short-lived spell he won just two games, leaving in February having failed to inspire his team, despite pulling on his boots again to shore up the midfield.
A move to League Two team Wycombe Wanderers followed for Lambert in June 2006 and his finest hour came when the Chairboys held Premier League Chelsea to a 1-1 draw in the League Cup semi-finals, having eliminated top flight teams Fulham and Charlton Athletic along the way.
He then stepped up a tier, joining recently relegated Colchester United. After a 12th place finish in 2008/09, the current campaign started with the U's winning 7-1 away to Norwich City on the opening day.
That result created a vacancy at Carrow Road shortly after, which Lambert stepped into. He has since transformed their fortunes and, with 25 wins from 38 games so far, is statistically the club's most successful manager to date with regards to the percentage of games won.
well his mind be for changing?....

Celtic have placed Mark Hughes at the top of their list of potential replacements for sacked Tony Mowbray. The Parkhead club ended the Englishmans nine-month reign as manager yesterday following Wednesday nights humiliating 4-0 defeat to St Mirren. Reserve team coach Neil Lennon has been placed in charge for the remainder of the season, with Swedish fans favourite Johan Mjallby set to assist. Sportsmail has learned, however, that tentative contact has already been established with former Manchester City, Blackburn and Wales manager Hughes with regard to a permanent appointment. And despite offers from West Ham and an opportunity to lead the Ivory Coast at this summers World Cup finals, the Welshman is said to be intrigued by the prospect of a switch to the SPL from next season. Keen to land a major Premiership job, the 46-year-old has already rejected advances from Hull City, Bolton, plus the Turkish and Israeli football associations. If a major English club fails to make an offer, however, then Hughes will give the Celtic post serious consideration. Norwich manager Paul Lambert, Alan Curbishley and Portsmouths Avram Grant will join a raft of names to be mentioned in the coming months, despite Lennon being handed the opportunity to capture the Scottish Cup. Mowbrays swift departure was followed by those of assistant Mark Venus and coach Peter Grant. A 13th defeat of the season in embarrassing circumstances in Paisley prompted a conclusion to weeks of speculation. His match statistics were the worst of any Celtic manager in the 112-year history of the club, despite the arrival of 14 new players over two transfer windows and the £65,000-a-week capture of Robbie Keane on loan. Celtic chairman John Reid said in a statement:
