You could take the view that now Croke Park is generating good income from the development of the stadium that the GAA are paying back the money given to them by the Government.

Or even stop league of Ireland players signing on the live register during their few months off........that would save a few bob also.

GAA PROVIDING PLENTY OF EMPLOYMENT AND REVENUE FOR THE GOVT ALREADY, IF THE GOVT COULD CUT DOWN ON THE SECURITY BILL FOR THE LEAGUE OF SKANGERS IE LOI IT WOULD BE A LOT MORE USE TO GOVT FUNDING

Or maybe make sure all the LoI clubs are paying all their tax bills and not going bust every few years and resurrecting under a slightly different name.

Or apply an export tax on all the soccer fans travelling over to Man U, Celtic, Liverpool etc to watch the ponces in the premiership.

Slightly different?

Cork City becomes Cork City Foras Co-op. Did you ever hear a dafter name for an Irish team?

GAA PROVIDING PLENTY OF EMPLOYMENT AND REVENUE FOR THE GOVT ALREADY

Plenty of companies pay revenue and create employment. Do you think that they should be exempt from VAT as well?

Regular GAA love-in here.

The gaa are a wealthy organisation they need no state aid , just like the catholic church .
Im not a LOI fan but any guy not working or receiving a wage is entitled to claim welfare, many players are earning less than the average industrial wage and those in the small clubs are on pittance

The Minister for Fun will right a few wrongs macrocky.

thing is they have {the gaa} have half the country working for them with little or no wages . -they pay vat to the uk revenue and customs on games played in the six counties same should apply to the remaning 26..

refs dont punt....is it compulsary to wear tracksuits & earrings at LOI Fixtures?
Report GANT007 March 24, 2010 6:50 PM GMT
refs dont punt.........vat is paid to the uk revenue for games played inside the 6 counties..........that's why Clones gets all the big games.
Look, the aviva stadium has got €192 million out of a total spend of €420 odd million from the government, so in the name of sport enjoy the new stadium.
