i hope NAMA doesnt affect TEACHERS wouldnt want them working any more than 5 hours a day or taking any reduction in their 22 weeks holidays...also govt has to ensure theres a minimum of 60K in benefits avaible for each TRAVELLER family in the state though childrens allowance,etc....

timber ,your issues with teachers ,travellers ,cheesemakers etc can be put on hold
NAMA will finish this country off ...get angry about that
Report timberman February 27, 2010 9:51 AM GMT
I agree NAMA is a long term kill for the country but Travellers in particular are draining cashflow at a chronic rate NOW....plus the likes of teachers whinging when they have the cushiest jobs in europe....hard facts are as is evidenced by hughes & hughes closing..cloths shops etc yesterday the country is Fcuked and travellers with their ten children etc are bleeding the country dry from benefits for everything from legal aid to haircuts to money for wiping their arsses...... and teachers who got huge rises during the last decade comparing themselves to private workers THEN .. wont take any cuts now despite the fact private workers are all unemployed, emigrating or commiting suicide...still dont touch the teachers 5 hour days and 22 weeks holidays per annum.....
Report irishro February 27, 2010 9:59 AM GMT
Is it not fair to say that if the teachers hadn't taken a pay cut than hughes & hughes would still be open?? 3 months a year back-packing around south east asia would see you through a fair amount of Marian Keyes books. They had to cut back somewhere!!
Report Biodiesel February 27, 2010 5:47 PM GMT
few more big wins an Iam out of this country!

Report GANT007 February 27, 2010 6:33 PM GMT
Don't think you will see many teachers names appearing on NAMA'S books.
Report Ernie__Bert February 27, 2010 7:10 PM GMT
Dont know why you are blaming teachers or any public sector worker for the mess. They have taken large cuts. Do you want blood off them all. We still have to have people do these jobs. The people in charge of the banks and Bertie and his team have left a future of destruction behind them. The current crop will only make it worse. In 10 years tiem you will have the irish on foreign tvs at lunch time and dinner time asking people for €2 a month.
Report timberman February 27, 2010 8:08 PM GMT
ten years time?...the govt wont be able to borrow the money required to pay dole & public service in 12 months time...start stocking up on tinned food ......
Report timberman February 27, 2010 8:11 PM GMT
Ernie & Bert...public servents got 28% benchmarking outside of national wage agreement past 7 years,,,a reduction of 15% isnt a large cut....there will be more cuts so you better get used to it..what about the private workers that have lost their jobs or taken 50% reductions??...

All ye Irish punters will now work an extra 3 years pre pension to pay for NAMA. Enjoy it. You deserve no better for supporting such an indecisive Government. Shame the bookies cant get that loot in recognition of their positive contribution to the Irish mentality.

its so depressing, the whole thing

i can hear your anger timberman, especially on the travellers front

we're all sheep waiting for somebody to start the revolution. why bother with the current system of politics if people like beverly flynn cooper, john o donogue etc will be elected back again come election time, at least 40% of the population are too stupid to be allowed to vote(i guess all thos paddy jokes were right)

we elect people because their fathers were td's, thats not democracy, thats fecking monarchy. if britain had not invadendd us at all, descendant of queen maeve would be taoiseach. we get what we deserve.

the way we elect our government is the reason we have this mess, they do things the way they do to stay in power and they make the decisions they did based on staying in power at any cost which has resulted in the absolute mess we are in

nama is a joke, the bailouts is a bad joke, the wages of tds is a joke, the welfare system is unbelievable

whats the way- we elect our own adolf hitler, he could be called adrian haughey

give him radical powers to rip up the constitution to dismantle the political system, demolish the public sector unions, nationalise the banks and put those white collar criminals behind bars. undertake a proper building programme of building schools and not prefabs, building a network or rail and devolping wave power stations along the western front and lines on the eastern front to import uk's nuclear energy

then on a social front, build sporting halls and community centres to be shared by loads of different organistions and become focal points of community

then we need to reorganise the gardai, creating a riot squad made up mostly of ex soldiers and highly trained and fit young men to put down drug gangs and travellers withe extreme force. also when they slash benifits, riot squads would need to be deployed against the rise of criminals

off course a system like this with an autocratic leader would lead eventually to a power trip and he would probably start putting travellers in concentration camps, well they are already in camps, just need to put barbed wire around it and put some gun towers either side of them.

and then he'd invade northern ireland to reclaim the empire and mayeb eye the west of scotland for more "living space"

uk wont like that and we will go to war and lose but we'd still be in a much better place than we are in now

;)
