Race 1) Ambitious Fan. (Nap) This most consistent mare can collect in a very weak renewal of this maiden hurdle. 2nd to Cappelanus on Red Mills day sets the standard.
Race 2) Better Times. (NB) This dual bumper winner has Cass Bligh to beat. A good 2nd to W P's hotpot Flat Out at Punchestown a fortnight ago.
Race 3) Mon Champion. (Treble) Nothing much stands out here. So that leaves the consistent Pat Flynn gelding. A good 2nd in the Ladies Hurdle to Red Basil with Davy Russell taking over gives him a good chance.
Race 4) Perce Rock. Coming back to a winning trip. The last time he was over a similar trip he got lucky beating Conna Castle and Reisk Superman who all but unseated at the last at Fairyhouse last Easter.
Race 5) No Selection. Nothing stands out for me. Norn/ BJG what is it?
Race 6) Balistraw. Keen Leader that shrewd P/P expert reckons this can win. On another thread he says it has been laid out for this. The Hickey's previously had Bob Treacy who had good success here.
Race 7) First Lieutenant. 255k as a 3 y old it cost. Hosed up at odds on his only run in a P/P. Mouse often targets Gowran with his bumper runners.
1.35 - Nap - Ambitious Fan, stayed on well on debut to grab 3rd after a poor round on jumping - stayed on very strongly lto to finish 1/2l second behind Cappelanus- sets the clear standard in this poor race
2.10 - Cass Bligh, a bumper winner(placed in 2 others) made an eyecatching debut over hurdles wen powering home to get 3rd in a decent maiden hurdle behind Dr Whizz and MCR hurldle winner Puyol- the one to beat here
2.40 - Lottery of a race, Abbey Glen would be very interesting but has nt run in over 500 days so i have to look elsewhere! A speculative e/w punt on Rio Alto e/w at what should be a big price - led at the last 2 runs ago at Cork b4 been run out of it and finishing a close up 4th - was outclassed last time behind Voler La Vodette and worth another try
3.15 - Arkendale e/w has just over 3l to make up on Dooneys Gate from their meeting the end of January and meets that rival on 5lbs better terms here- has won over the distance and ground should be ok
3.50 - Not a clue, poor race! A few bob on Got Attitude maybe, was stil in contention wen coming down in a race won by Nicanor lto- nt much worthwhile form to go on in this
4.25 - The Halfway Bar stayed on to take second behind Juveigneur in a pt lto (Beantown just behind) a reproduction of that should put him bang there in this- Having a Cut prob sets the standard on overall form but went out like a light lto
4.55 - nb -First Lieutenant looks a good thing - absolutely annhialated his rivals in a ptp in Kilfeacle- if he can step forward on that effort again should be very tough to beat in this

BJG, backed Arkendake last Saturday at Navan. The owner fancied it e/w. He owns the Arkendale Nursing Home in Dalkey so I was told. The gluey ground must have been against it imo. Hope he has recovered.

I'll put Dancing Hero up, should be getting more weight but acts very well on couse, dotn think grould will be an issue and second to dorset square the last day is good form and nearly got back up, will probably be handy so he he went well not far off the pace he could well be hard to peg back
As above fav will win first, agree that form last day over C & D is solid and best form on show

I will be having two E/W bets tomorrow, the first is PERCE ROCK in the handicap chase, provided he has a blunder free round should run well. The second is BALLISTRAW in the hunters chase. I think he is coming back to near his best which should see him go close.

Has KL posted his Cheltenham Foxhunter views anywhere? I'm pretty much clueless on that race - Kohaku (a respected Hunter Chase judge on here) likes Trust Fund

Well done lads as usual. An Mhi first up with Dancing Hero. DAS geting on at 8/1 good stuff.
Great to see Tom Ryan get off the cold list. Thats him and Barry Cash back in the winners enclosure. Slippers tops the list now maybe. Mouse will have to get him a winner.
Keen Leader top of the class too. I was talking to connections of Beantown afterwards. They said they were in with a great shout when they got hampered badly by Castleview Mills coming down at the 3rd last.
I thought the 2nd My Boy Paddy for Denis Ahern in the last came out of the race as a sure fire winner. No doubt he will be on the boat to England before long.
Handy crowd.
