TV England (18/19) v (20) Ireland (11/10)

Glad to see Sexton starts here - Geordan Murphy back in at full back for the injured Kearney, mite give somethin different goin forward too imo - O Leary was very poor vs France(who was nt i suppose) and was hopin they'd give Reddan a chance too!

But overall think Ire are a decent bet at 11/10 here myself

Good to see Sexton get his chance. Can't complain with that side. Going to the match so lets hope for an Irish victory.

Yup - O Leary better wake up a bit though, was shockin vs France!

Was gonna have a few €€ on Murphy anytime scorer too but nt at that price(4/1)!

Report macrocky February 27, 2010 3:49 PM GMT
ireland must try to play possession rugby 2nd half , the ref will blow for any infringement, penalties will win this game, we have controlled the game since the 1st 15 mins
Report colb February 27, 2010 3:58 PM GMT
England to take this is the second half, having far more possession and Ireland making too many mistakes
Report BJG February 27, 2010 4:00 PM GMT

Report BJG February 27, 2010 4:09 PM GMT
Too many mistakes!

Ref givin a few dodgy calls to Eng though imo
Report macrocky February 27, 2010 4:11 PM GMT
ref is giving england some dodgy decisions, we must put points on the board, no doubt about it we are better

What has happened English rugby? lol!! great pick me up from the france game, slaying the auld enemy on their own soil, sweet as it comes!
Report macrocky February 27, 2010 6:30 PM GMT
Sexton will have learnt a lot, he played his 1st games for ireland in no pressure games but today ireland were under the cosh at twickenham, while his little kicks were superb penalties are vital and must be kicked , rog is as dependable as anyone in the world.
Tomas o leary did well and tommy bowe and keith earls showed what england lack , a bit of class and flair
England won their world cup with boring rugby and again its the forwards that carry the only threat

A truly happy happy day
Report moscowflyer'scousins February 27, 2010 10:15 PM GMT
always good to beat the english- bizarrely doing so in a game where we had very few chances and little possesion. If we scored like that everyime, we'd be repeat world champions. Sexton too easily dismayed by his goal kicking failures, good passing and sometimes kicking however. Tanks belated to the ref too, who made up for relentlessly penalising us and not having a clue about the scrum, the mal or the ruck
Report slow jamz February 27, 2010 11:05 PM GMT
we got f00king lucky bigtime
playing sexton was totally wrong, nearly shat his pants
Report Murphys Stroke February 28, 2010 7:49 AM GMT
Nearly shat his pants What a load of rubbish. His kick for Bowes first try was sublime and he also set Earls try up.Two of the conversions were from the touchline and on a dirty wet day there was no shame in missing them.He also kicked one or two great garryowens which resulted in great field position. It wasnt a perfect match for him under any circumstances but I thought he did pretty well and by the way Im a Munster man.
Report Lay Lay and Lay again February 28, 2010 3:39 PM GMT
Very poor performance by Ireland yesterday...rather lucky to win too.

get the feeling there is a major munster, leinster divide within the team and ifs thats the case we aint going anywhere
Report badger's back February 28, 2010 4:51 PM GMT

hardly any lads sing it from the south.

thebeg

Knowing a few of the squad personally I don't believe that to be the case. However it definitely exists among supporters and so it should. all this rubbish about Munsteir should shout for Leinster and vice versa .... I will shout for Leinster when I see Man City supporters shouting for Man U ...Liverpool for everton....Madrid for Barcelona etc etc
Report yummy February 28, 2010 4:59 PM GMT

The Bull , DOC, BOD to name a few give it welly

Not a fan of it but I think you are incorrect in what you say
Report itcanbedone February 28, 2010 5:06 PM GMT
Very disappointing to hear you say that, Yummy. As a Leinster fan, I am more that happy to shout for Munster or any other Irish team.
Report yummy February 28, 2010 5:07 PM GMT
Bet you will be cheering for England in the World Cup too
Report itcanbedone February 28, 2010 5:12 PM GMT
Yes, it would be good to see them do well. Why not?

Am I detecting a few rather large *****on your shoulders, yummy.
Report macrocky February 28, 2010 5:52 PM GMT
Itcanbedone I think my opinion is the same as most irishmen, most people in ireland have met some real nice good english people , have cousins or friends in england, will holiday in england but will never support england in any match due to history
Report itcanbedone February 28, 2010 6:22 PM GMT
Well thats quite a can of worms, Mackrocky. We had best not open it up. I like to think plenty of Irish people have moved on.

Out of interest, do you feel the same about Norman or Viking teams?

And getting back to the original point, what major trauma have Leinster imposed upon Munster?
Report macrocky February 28, 2010 6:28 PM GMT
i would cheer leinster on , those leinster lads are good lads though my gra is for munster
That was a great performance by ireland as ireland didnt have much possession away from home against one of the big rugby nations.
Im glad england didnt win as the team seems based on martin johnsons playing career, big pack to blunt the opposition , not too much flair and kick the penalties. Only problem is wilkinson is playing poor and missing a few kicks now

Excellent use of the bench by Deccie.

O'Leary is a real problem at 9 now.
Report the jolly March 1, 2010 3:51 PM GMT
O'Leary had a much improved performance on Sat. The fact that we only had 30% of posession may have contributed to that? His decision to go blind side for the second try and his contribution to the third try were excellent. Defence and box kicks were solid.
Ireland's Call is a disaster.
I happy to cheer for Leinster, when not playing Munster.
Cant cheer for England in any sport. Started to come out in a rash when I heard the 'chariots' on Sat.
