When was the last time one of these gambles won?
Report timberman February 17, 2010 10:55 AM GMT
lay it at 4 on here so?...1/3 24 horses running for you???
Report downallstar February 17, 2010 10:59 AM GMT
I wouldnt back RoP at 1/3 in the first, so I wouldn't lay 3/1, not my cup of tae.
Have Backed Dessie's horse ew in the race.

It was a simple question btw, so please keep your sarcasm to yourself, ta.
Report Hemingway February 17, 2010 11:18 AM GMT

Report yummy February 17, 2010 11:26 AM GMT

Report BJG February 17, 2010 11:36 AM GMT
Would u back it at under 3/1 tgm?

In a 22 runner handicap at that price i am willin to lay it with 21 others runnin for me - could well be a right auld plot job but could be out of the frame as easily imo
Report Tony Fenton February 17, 2010 11:39 AM GMT
And JP Elliott up, strike rate 3.31% for the brother. No thanks.
Report stirrer February 17, 2010 11:40 AM GMT

Report thegalwayman February 17, 2010 11:56 AM GMT
It does not 'have' to be a lay at the prices. It may still represent value. Are you privy to 'inside information' bjg? I know many of the elite on here are.
Report BJG February 17, 2010 11:59 AM GMT
No inside info here tgm - only going with my own opinion
Report 3winnersandasecond February 17, 2010 12:57 PM GMT
Has never been placed, hasn't been within 20l of the winner in any INHS race, wonder what Gordon's excuse(s) will be? Or will the Stewards bother to ask?
IMO it won't be mapped today (far too short to get any decent stakes on it at this stage). Perhaps one for the notebook after a couple of quiet runs...?
Report Doyler1987 February 17, 2010 3:32 PM GMT
No bet there, just watching out of interest, jaysus there was some amount of sticks in that race the way it panned out. Very well placed it must be said, fair played to them.

Mr Elliot replied: The money was down today guvnor, to which they all had a good chuckle

"I just made it back in time. He's a big old fashioned horse who has had a lot of problems," said Elliott.

"We train him out of a field now and it seems to work for him. He just came alive over the last couple of weeks. We might go to Fairyhouse next Tuesday with him."

Pity Cork IT couldn't have won I would have got a nice double up.

some scope by fellow country men, just like his owner for the country team, delivered the goods.......... They have landed some touches, I laugh at all these boys laying the horse on the fact he has no form, big field, etc. Unless you know connectiosn and anyhting about them your laying based on guess work against owner and trainer who are as shrewd as you get. Dun doire william hill in chelt lives on..........

Apparently Spoils laid 5e e/w on an unrestricted account and immediately cut it to 12/1.

Report pots February 18, 2010 1:23 PM GMT
that was **ing pure and simple, terheh's no other word for it. if it happened in a regulated market everyopne would be going to prison. and HRI wonder why pp are considering pulling irish racing, yet still have to pay them a levy on every bet regardless of sport ?
Report insideinfo February 18, 2010 1:38 PM GMT
pots can you explain exactly what you mean when you say PP are considering "pulling" Irish Racing?
Report pots February 18, 2010 1:51 PM GMT
they spoke about pulling it as a product about a year ago, citing low margins (2%), it was more a shot accross the bows to the HRi to say we don;t need your product in fact we might be better off without it. i'm open to correction here
Report claimingseven February 18, 2010 1:56 PM GMT
It wouldnt exactly be the best PR in the world if "Irelands largest Bookmaker" didnt offer prices on Irish racing because it wasnt making them enough money.
Report 3winnersandasecond February 21, 2010 9:09 PM GMT
EMI in his piece today reports that "the authorities do not ask a trainer to explain improvement relative to form that was shown prior to the previous 90 days".
Any of the experts on here care to elaborate on the "little known rule"??
Report soapp February 22, 2010 4:44 PM GMT
First I heard of it too 3 winners.
Report An Mhi February 22, 2010 5:09 PM GMT
sure these gambles happen every day of the week in eng, market movers every morning, so this one was landed. I am sure there are ones that have not been landed and PP dont come on and say how much they made on it, Ie some T martins one that go astray, B Curley, P Nichols - Takeroc recently 33's into 10's and What a friend in the Henessy at a big price. Its been aprt of racing since it began so how exactly to you outlaw it. PP lost 200k on that race but probably made it back that night on poker with some clown was up a forture and one of their boys get stuck into him and clean him, the heart bleeds.. pulling the plug cos people are marking money or landing a touch, shutting accounts that make money, so they want a business where they are cleaning up and no one else is...
Report An Mhi February 26, 2010 5:25 PM GMT
out tomorrow at the local track - me thinks a 6/4 shot at best? bookies wont risk a penny with the locals
