NAAS racecourse manager Tom Ryan admitted on Sunday that there is little hope of the cancelled meeting being rescheduled for the coming week.
The meeting, which was due to feature the Woodlands Park 100 Nas Na Riogh Chase, Paddypower.com Novice Hurdle and Paddypowerpoker.com Chase, all Grade 2 contests, was cancelled after over an inch of snow overnight left the track unraceable. Speaking just after midday on Sunday, Ryan said: "The schedule is already fairly full for next week. The temperature hasn't done much; much of the track at the moment is still covered in about an inch of snow. "If we were thinking about racing tomorrow, I would have to be able to say the track would be raceable at about this time, but at this stage I'm unable to do that." Ryan added: "We'll be applying for a new meeting and we'll discuss tomorrow about when we can do that." |
