So how did today go for you? Many turn up? A couple of questions regarding the facility....if you have an existing betfair account can you deposit cash to your account immediately? Or is it a generic account you get when you pay/start the day?
Hope it went well for you...am definitely interested but need to know just how it works.
Report nextbetlucanracing March 31, 2009 5:37 PM BST
Hi Odd,
Sorry for the delay.
You can use your existing account as normal in the room.
Betfair have stated that they are not facilating a cash deposit account in any trding room in Ireland at the moment. Therefore the room acts as normal with your own account.
Regards.

I thought there was a cash deposit facility in the trading room in Shannon or at least I recall someone saying on here that there was.
Report nextbetlucanracing March 31, 2009 7:19 PM BST
I don't actually know. I was onto Graham Ross, Betfair Ireland, he told me that they were not entering into commercial partnership with anybody for trading rooms in Ireland for the forseeable future. To me, it limits the scope of the trading room, but unfortunately they are not interested. It's a shame really.
Regards.

I a looking into a way of accepting cash lodgements it ourselves.
Surely we cn allow cash deposits to accounts we own.
It will mean the comission rate will be 5%.
Surely that can be organised?
Regards.

Tolmi the chap in Shannon lets you use his account or an account set up in his name. You can cash out at the end of the day if you want. Obviously ante post bets are messy but thats not really the point of trading. The times I was there the commiss was less than 4% (might have been 3.8)
Obvioulsy thje account gets used by someone nearly every day and the commission is a lot less now.
What nextbetlucan is referring to is betfair giving credit to the owner for an accounr with speciaal commsision rates.
However I think Betfair often ended up getting knockedwhen the trading room wound down. I think they got burnt in the Merrion for a few quid

Anyone been to the trading room in Dunleer, a review would be nice
Report nextbetlucanracing April 6, 2009 12:10 PM BST
Hello All,
There are a few regulars in the room at the moment, I would like to see them post a mesage or two to tell me how they are getting on. I have had no bad feedback from them person to person though.
Hope to see some more people trying the room out.
Regards.

Report olddesperado April 16, 2009 2:34 PM BST

Hello Gentlefolk,

Trading Room is still up and running. Betfair's lack of commercial interest in the project has dented our appeal to the discerning punter!

Any queries I would be glad to address.
