i dont fancy sean flanagan tbh, he needs a top jock imo
Report MayoMan December 28, 2009 1:29 PM GMT
Think you could be right there Mac
Report mitch leary December 28, 2009 1:39 PM GMT
nothing wrong with flanagan. has had some nice big race winners. won on houdini before too if im not mistaken.
Report The Icchantika December 28, 2009 1:43 PM GMT
Flanagan is pretty rubbish imo. That houdini was at his best the day Ruby rode him and that is no coincidence.
Report mitch leary December 28, 2009 1:49 PM GMT
so he mustn't have been at his best on the days when flanagan and madden won on him.
Report CailiniDeas8 December 28, 2009 2:03 PM GMT
Disappointing for connections. :(

Horse will have another day hopefully.
Report macrocky December 28, 2009 2:23 PM GMT
Im not having a go at flanagan though i think there are many jocks better than him
For such a big event like a welsh national i would have booked one of the top professional jockeys
Maybe to be fair to connections with leopardstown and limerick on their options were curtailed
Report mitch leary December 28, 2009 2:30 PM GMT
in fairness there are only a handful of top pros. you cant pick and choose.
Report The Icchantika December 28, 2009 2:31 PM GMT
You don't have a clue mitch. Jog on.
Report mitch leary December 28, 2009 2:37 PM GMT
what dont i have a clue about? explain please.
Report The Icchantika December 28, 2009 2:38 PM GMT
so he mustn't have been at his best on the days when flanagan and madden won on him.

Explain that please. You don't have a clue about racing in general.

Flanagan is pretty rubbish imo. That houdini was at his best the day Ruby rode him and that is no coincidence.
that was your bullsh1t statement.
flanagan and madden have won races on him so he was obviously fairly near his best on those days too.
Report crouchingtiger1 December 28, 2009 3:11 PM GMT
i'm not a huge fan of ruby off a horse but houdini's win in galway this year under ruby was in my opinion his best performance by 7-10lbs, i don't think it's any coincidence...it's a stretch to say he'd have been competitive today under ruby, but there is no doubt faced with a choice of having or not having ruby you'd choose to have him
Report The Icchantika December 28, 2009 3:48 PM GMT
My statement made perfect sense. Crouchingtigerhiddennaggin got what I meant. It is a pity, but hardly surprising, that you did not.

Report The Gotchee December 30, 2009 7:29 PM GMT
Flanagan has done well on the horse and he deserved his chance on a big day.
Report GANT007 December 30, 2009 7:46 PM GMT
most large syndicates will always opt for a high profile jockey if available..........no loyalty but members get to shake their hand.......
