Walter Swinburn's daughter of Forestry makes her debut on the surface this afternoon after two consistent efforts at Kempton. She looks to be fairly treated here off a mark of 53 and she can pay back some of the $160,000 that she cost connections. Mister Frosty has shown little, French recruit Daraqala has shown very little over hurdles of late, whilst Eightdaysaweek is a proven runner at this track and is being given a chance by the handicapper. A similar comment applies to top-weight Ladies Dancing, whilst Charging Indian has disappointed since a win here in October. Phantasy Rock completes the line-up; she is nicely-bred and the trainer is unlikely to be here just for a holiday. She is unexposed and this mark of 61 could prove to be lenient. Not a race to dwell on, and the vote goes to Through The Forest. FORMWATCH Ladies Dancing 40-1 (8-10) Dwelt, tracked leader after 1f, ridden and every chance over 2f out, weakened over 1f out, 4th of 7, 9l behind Iron Out (8-9) at Wolverhampton 1m 1f hcp 0-85 (4) pol. A winning pointer for Liam Burke, Paul Kristian (6yo) showed decent form when coming second under very tender handling to the smart novice chaser Let Yourself Go in a Limerick maiden hurdle in March 2008. His jockey was later banned for 50 days for insufficient effort and can be rated better than his bare Racing Post Rating of 122. WILL TRY TO WIN AGAIN TUESDAY
Beroni (7yo) was a fair sort of novice chaser with Michael O'Brien last year and ran some good races in defeat, including when third to the smart Merchent Paddy at Leopardstown in a Grade 2. He had tended to cut out in his races but if Mullins can imbue him with some extra stamina or find the root of his problem, then he looks well-treated off 119 and they also have the option of reverting to hurdles as he's still a maiden in that sphere. 'NOUGH SAID Conclave (5yo) has come over from Adrian Sexton's yard, the source of Tilabay, and would not look badly treated on 109, especially if one looks at her Galway win last October in which Montero was a well-beaten third. Her best form is on right-handed tracks and both she and Beroni have entries this weekend. 2ND TODAY wd TK |
