Let's hope the snow stays away.

A woeful card with the bumper being the race of the day.

Race 1) Danikhali. Every chance we will hear the "Up Monaghan" roars. Very consistent of late. Last time against Trixie at Thurles in a race that has been working out well.

Race 2) Goban Saor (Nap). S/hd runner up in a blanket finish to weak jolly Mojito Royale in Clonmel 7 weeks ago. Hope Andy Mc doesn't go the way of his last 2 jockeys. Pat Mangan ( broken leg) Gary Hutchinson ( sight nor sound of late)

Race 3) Chief Oscar (NB). Taking a chance on this course specialist to benefit from his seasonal debut. Well in on chase ratings. takendo could be the one to take out of the race with Leopardstown in mind for Arthur Moore who targets the Christmas festival.

Race 4) Oran Flyer. This Philip Fenton beast has yet to get in front at the lolly pop. Experience and a change of jockey could just unlock the key. This longer trip to help.

Race 5) Bally Wall. A six time point winner. S/hd'd by Chief Oscar who could land the 3rd race, on his park debut back in February. Derek O'Connor the best around.

Race 6) Dapper Dan (Treble). They say a good gelding will always beat a good mare. This gelding has run into hotpots from the Mullins/Meade yard and deserves to reward consistency. Lou's Coole Girl had Nina last time in a Mares bumper at Fairyhouse 6 weeks ago.

Oliver Brady saddles Mexican Venture in a novices' hurdle at Ascot, I reckon the 16-1 in the Post would be worth a bet. Plein Pouvoir interesting earlier on back in trip.

Tipolino might be worth place laying. Wouldn't get that trip if he started now.

ITS ON AN IMO STILL BETTER RACING THAN ENGLISH ALL WEATHER

My 4 for Downpatrick today:

1.05 Goban Saor for Eddie OGrady who has gained 2 wins and 2 third from his 4 runners in this race in the past 4 years. Goban Saor put in a good effort on his last start when narrowly touched off by highly rated flat runner Mojito Royale in a 2m Cork maiden hurdle on soft ground. This race doesnt look the most competitive and should be a good opportunity to gain his first win. 15/8 VC (6 of 7 favourites have won this)

1.40 Major Key (each way) might be worth taking a chance on. Mervyn Torrens has won this race in 2 of the last 3 years and his 2 runners in the last fortnight have both finished 2nd. Major Key comes into the race on the back of a good run on the all weather at Dundalk last time out. Hes struggled in handicap hurdles so far but dropped to 98 and in this weaker contest 16/1 VC looks worth a small each way bet.

2.45 Cute NSmooth (each way) is another runner for Mervyn Torrens that I think could go well today. He was runner-up in this race last year behind Chief Oscar who was completing a hat-trick and won his next start before going over for the Foxhunters at Cheltenham. Cute NSmooth has won twice in point to points over 3 miles on ground with ease in it so conditions today should suit and at 9/1 Lad-brokes I think he looks good each way value.

3.20 Ballintemple Star (each way) for Prunella Dobbs who has won with 2 of her 3 runners could go well in this bumper at a nice price. The form of his second in a Killeagh point to point on his penultimate start looks good with the 3rd, 5th and 6th all winning one of their next two starts with the 4th falling on next start when still holding every chance. He should be sharper for his first run of the season, a fall in another point to point. Considering that hes fallen on 3 of 4 runs to date, a bumper might make more sense. Katie Walsh is booked to ride and she has already ridden a bumper winner for Dobbs this month. At 14/1 VC/B365 I think Ballintemple Star is a good each way option in this race.

I was going to lay GOBAN SAOR 1.05 till lumberg produced some good stats. The 2 pt to pt horses are dangerous imo run and dream and minella class.kusadasi and awkward moment have claims, I wouldnt back goban saor under 2/1.
I agree with emi , TIPOLINO has the form but 2m 5f could be a half a mile too far.
The bumper is decent, if lous coole girl is around 2/1 im laying, buckshots banjo last run is very solid and whatdouthink has legitimate claims + nina has jumped ship onto tammys hill

did D O Connor make a mess of that race or what- collared late home but caught on inside then went outside and for me could have stole a few lenths going down hill when going best of all on inside, has to go widest at 2nd last and lost ground that if he had held inside line would have held on to win - alot like hm but i watch him in bumpers and he aint anythign like nina or PW, even if on a good one

Good pick, Lumberg. Catch me picked the Hunter Chase winner at 25/1.

I managed to get matched on Honest Man at 14/1 and laid off a third of it in running at 4/1. Tried to lay off the rest at 1.4 in the photo but the result was out quicker than the atr boys realised. Got lucky there.

Got matched at 17/2 on Awkward Moment but laid off half it in running at 7/4. Sick again. :(

I shouldn't be arbing!!

Another bad day for the layers.

Race 1) Honest Man (5/1) 9/1 am. 14/1 available to overnight punters :) A great drive by Andy Mc got up on the line. My first impression was that he got up. But the runner up was 1/3 in the photo. As I had a few bob on the winner I tried to lay off at 2/5 but was too late.

Race 2) Awkward Moment (15/8f) 4/1 am. 17/2 available to overnight punters. :) Laid out by Ml Hourigan for local Owner Mr Craig of Beef Or Salmon fame won easy enough.

Race 3) Major Key (10/1) One for the layers and Lumberg. A race that has been targetted by Torrens in the past.

Race 4) Tilly Ann (9/2) 8/1 am. Another gamble landed. Jason Titley is associated with the yard.

Race 5) Kircassock Vic (25/1) Probably not a shilling in the ring for this Hunters Chase.

Lou's Coole Girl (5/2f) Another bad result for the layers. It's nice for the Star Syndicate. Those of us who have the Star Discount book usually get a text when they have a runner. We got one for Auspicious Outlook in Cork on Tuesday. None today :(
