I actually think Hello Kitty is a solid lay at what is likely to be sub 2/1. She did run well the last day but was getting a lot of weight and Moskova ran a fair bit below form and still won. HK finds it tough enough to win too and the drop in trip is a negative.

I fancy Brave Betsy in it myself. She is the most talented mare in the race by a comfortable distance and ran well in Fairyhouse last week, jumping well enough too. She has won both her races over two miles and tomoros trip could bring out the best in her. The only worry is that she probably needs a bit of a break between races but Andy didn't kill her last week and tomoro is a big day for her as regards breeding value so I wouldn't be suprised if they were thinking about this race last week.

Quel Esprit is a moral certainty I think also

My few for Cork today:

1.00 American Job (each way) for Tom Nagle who won this race in 2008 with Bishop Looney. Bishop Looney won a 2m4f Cork maiden hurdle on his only previous hurdles run before winning this and American Job won the exact same maiden hurdle last time out.
American Job won a 3 mile point to point in March. He had his first run under rules in a 2m Cork novice hurdle on good ground. He pulled hard early on and travelled well but could not match the leaders when the pace was upped. The form of the race has worked out well with both the 3rd and 4th winning next time out.
That was his first start for over 6 months and he came in plenty for it. He won a maiden hurdle over course and distance last time out, the form of which was franked by 3rd Castle Anshan winning next time out and the 4th Boxing Along finishing 3rd next time out.
Todays 2m4f on heavy ground will suit well and American Job should be good each way value in this fairly hot grade 2 event. 12/1 Generally

1.30 Charles Byrnes has a 22% strike rate with his chasers here and he has the runner-up in this race last year. He has had 1 winner at 11/1 from 2 runners in the past week and I fancy Carthalawn in this.
Carthlawns record at Cork reads 22211 (2-3-5) and his record in 2 mile chase on soft or heavy reads F1U14 (2-0-5).
He was runner-up on his first start of the season in a 2m Tipperary hurdle, comfortably beaten by Go Native on fast ground. Form of the race looks very strong with Go Native winning the Fighting Fifth since and the 3rd River Liane winning a beginners chase next time out.
He was slightly disappointing last time when 4th in the 2m grade 2 Fortria Chase, beaten 16 lengths by Big Zeb. The 3rd Watson Lake won a grade 2 chase at Clonmel next time out.
Carthalawn clearly enjoys the Cork track and his last 3 wins have come over 2 miles on soft or heavy ground. 4/1 Tote/sportbet

3.30 Rock The Bock (small each way) at 20/1 VC has come in for a bit of support and Dusty Sheey is 3 from 15 with bumper runners here. 20/1

Robert Jones looks like a good young jockey, was looking forward to seeing him on The Wifes Pet later, but thats a nr.
The trainer seems to like him.

Actually noted another fine ride from A E Lynch on Echo Bob ...had him well placed up the rail and delivered him to win his race at the right time -but got outspeeded by the winner .
Lynch has aboiut a 22% strike rate on his last few dozen rides and looks to have a bright future in the game . Will be paying him serious attention over the Xmas festival season.

Smart performance from Silver Friend ( JJ Walsh/A McCurtin) in the finale.

It is amazing this was with Willie Mullins for two years without a run. And now with a new trainer brings off a fine gamble.

That Ambrose McCurtin(7) must be the best 7 lb Amateur around. When the money is down Ambrose is your man.
