Where do i start with these pr1cks?
i passed through it on 5th sept. paid via CC on 6th.
about a week later get a letter informing me that i owe them €12 for non payment. i ignored it.
another week or 2 passed i get a phone call off a nice girl who i informed that i did indeed pay ( i told her the exact time and date)
another week or 2 pass and i get a similar call, off not such a nice girl who i also informed the exact time and date of my payment.
her response-'you have to appreciate that we get thousands of calls every day' to which i replied...hardly thousands during the time window that i have given you..now go back to your tape recorders and listen back to the calls and please dont expect me to be lumbered with the burdon of proof. (she wanted me to fax/post a credit card receipt.
last week-soloictors letter informing me that i now owe €154 and i have court proceedings in the offing along with an appearance in the stubbs gazzette!
having consulted my solicitor i am infact going to bill the toll bridge operators for 9 phone calls, solicitors consultation fee, the price of the stamp/fax and the waste of my time.
am i right or wrong?

dead right. dont let them away with anything. all these companies are the same.

had yet another run in with esb. closed off account with them. a few days later got a non threatening but threatening letter - you know the one. only owed them €20.38 or so. paid the €20 and left the €0.38. 3 letters since has cost them more than what is owed. funnily enough i haven't received any in a couple of weeks!

If youve got the receipt let them do everything, let them take you to court over it. This happens an AWFUL lot, its a joke.

I sent them a very snotty email after they tried to fine me twice.
They stopped annoying me. If you have the proof dont send it to them
and tell them you will see them in court.
Absolute**s.

Afriend of mine based in England , from high up in the technology sector , was amazed when he saw the M50 toll operation . According to him , no other country in Europe would touch the system .

People from the North (not me , I pay each time-- and more later ) ignore payment , unless they are regular users . Not worth their while chasing it up apparently .

First time I used it I was travelling to Youghal . Later that day I went into the appropriate designated shop in Youghal to pay my 2.50 . I was the first non Eire car they had processed , they did not know whether it would work or not , it did . O.K.

About a year later I repeated that journey , went into the same shop , having checked up the appropriate web-site which still nominated that shop . They looked at me curiously and said "Oh we gave up all that nonsense 6 months ago , not practical " .

The system is only OK for regular users , no good for foreigners or out of state drivers . If I go through en route home , to pay the cash sum I have to break my journey or incur any card charges that may arise . Guess that's why the majority of Northern occasional users ignore payment .

i got a fine for not paying, the" reg" of the machine was for a loader going through the m50 toll, hard to beleive when the machine hardly ever leaves the yard yet alone the county and i live an hour from dublin.

Win only - Sp only, basically we're paying for the fact that the govt **ed up. Like with much else. The whole thing is ripe for a mass boycott. And the courts wouldn't support the company. They'd soon give up. Enough money has been made through that toll and it's not like it goes to the common good. A prime example of the corruption of using private means to a supposed common good. They should '** off' now. Just need the likes of Eddie Hobbs to rally people to tell them to '** off'.
