Thanks for your reply. I thought the same but Hamilton and Beglin were saying that Anelka should have been booked and definitely no penalty.

u cant give penos for that same as evra at weekend who just booted the ball out of play and thought he shud have had a peno french fool.

Its a pity that someone in the irish team didnt chance a run into the box, im sure the ref would have loved to even things up given any chance at all.

Sadly soccer has become a haven for divers and **s . The real problem is failure to move with the times re video checking in vital situations , and the penalty rule which ignores the real possibility of scoring as against a technical offence SOMEWHERE in the penalty area .

Why give a penalty to someone who has just kicked the ball into touch , lost control of the ball , but is interfered with by a diving goalkeeper ? **ers rule , penalties need to be graduated so that the penalty fits the crime . It is akin at the moment to having the death penalty for capital murder or stealing a loaf of bread .
