Just clanced, serious racing!!!
Osana vs Realt Dubh looks good.
As does the Lismullen!

Just went through Limerick. Truly bizarre that Ruby is not at Navan.
Report Pat Mustard November 6, 2009 2:17 PM GMT
Great card.
Report ChildOfMine2 November 6, 2009 2:34 PM GMT
Ruby clearly in Limerick for a reason and Willie doesn't have a whole lot going at Navan either.

superb racing weekend in general , hopefully a successful punting one too

Cant wait for the Breeders Cup....and for Notre Pere tomorrow, and for Limerick on Sunday, great weekend indeed!
Report Eye Mall Inn November 6, 2009 3:17 PM GMT
Could be interpreted as another shrewd piece of placing by WP Mullins - go to Limerick to take on trees while all the fuss is at Navan. Personally I wish Ruby were in Navan !

One horse certainly caught my eye. Nice bit of placing EMI.
Report Vubiant November 6, 2009 3:58 PM GMT
EMI is obviously being eyecatchingly humourous when he writes '
''never mind the BC''.
What lover of racing in their right mind wouldn't be excited and engaged at the prospect of an international feast of racing with so many top trainers, jockeys and equine stars in action .
I will cheer on every Irish and other European winner whether I've bet them or not .
Tonite -and tomorrow nite --I'm gonna B glood.

Obviously Vubiant.. great night to get**ed.

Given how close Ballydoyle went in the Juv races, its not surprising to see them bring a few better types this year.

Alfed Nobel should get a peace of the prize. ;)

Dynamite with there downallstar.

It is no surprise to see so many Europeans over this year as normal service will be resumed when they get back to the dirt surface next year.

Personally I much prefer the dirt surface as hours of study can be put into these races, with the fantastic sectional timing in the states, beyer figures, excellent drf cards etc. Some real gems can be unearthed if you manage to get the pace scenario etc right.

This year could well be a European benefit as they have brought a strong contingent and many of the better American horses (lots of juveniles by all accounts) have swerved the meeting.

I must admit that I am looking forward to the Marathon at Churchill Downs next year - It could resemble a heavy ground staying chase at Uttoxeter!!

I think he could've been placed better to be honest GI.
Report ChildOfMine2 November 6, 2009 4:17 PM GMT
30 out of the 38 european winners in BC history have come on the dirt so the message is STAY AWAY FROM THE DIRT!!!
Report General Idea November 6, 2009 4:19 PM GMT
He's got a great mark though EMI, nearly has to be exploited. What did you have in mind?
Report downallstar November 6, 2009 4:19 PM GMT
Apologies DV it was awful, couldn't resist.

Roll on the breeders Cup tonight in the local.

Down Royal on Telly tomorrow, then sit up and watch the Breeders Cup till all hours.

Then down to the Treaty City for a good card out in Patrickswell. Great to have Ruby down there. And a nice bumper to round off the day.
Report Eye Mall Inn November 6, 2009 4:45 PM GMT
He's too well in GI to start him off over 2m7f, I'd start off over 2m4f. Then again he probably won't win very well if he wins. Not sure he needs to run either but Davy thinks so.

I've never looked forward to a non Grade 1 meeting as Navan on Sunday, every race is a cracker sure.

Would absolutely love Irishracing.com's tissue on the Lismullen to be true :0

The worry about the well in horse in question is the jockey has never won on him, and hes had plenty of chances. He seemed to fall in love with that sliver haired magic handed pilot the last day.
Report Eye Mall Inn November 6, 2009 4:58 PM GMT
The 9-2 wouldn't be bad on him either.
Report Doyler1987 November 6, 2009 5:11 PM GMT
Wouldnt mind that myself, nor laying Judge at 11/10, nor Realt Dubh E/W at 6s, nor Catch Me at 4/5, the list goes on!

Ruby must be riding some serious machines in Limerick to have got off him :D
Report Distant View November 6, 2009 8:59 PM GMT
Catch Me will surely be 4/5.

I certainly would not back him at that price anyway.
