Today's race meeting at Aintree Racecourse (Sunday, 25 October 2026) has been abandoned due to dangerously high winds. Following a morning inspection prompted by an incoming storm threat, racing officials made the decision to call off the fixture for safety reasons.
How many people will be keenly watching san Siro? I will watch to see if Dubai Honour or Venetian Prince can win. Arabian Queen must be one of very few mares to have 5 group class offspring running in one season.

but CIDER has been telling everyone 24/7 its just a gentle breeze
cancelled based on the forecast/warnings, donut. prompted by an incoming storm threat
not a gentle breeze, but not a threat to life storm either. just pretty typical weather for this time of year.
the racing authorities have to make the decision early, and could have easily knocked of Cheltenham as well due to the deliberately exaggerated warnings.

Broon obviously never stops talking about the weather, opened the show yesterday by saying there was an amber weather warning and a good chance Kelso would be abandoned mid card. Fekkk all happened, as expected. THEY will create the inevitable problem that most people will begin ignoring the exaggerated warnings until the time that they aren't.

I appreciate all of that. My point is that the met office is now utilised for gaslighting. 'Storms' never used to be named ffs, only a few years ago nobody would be taking any notice of a bit of wind and rain in October. But since there are now incessant formal warnings it make it much more difficult for the authorities.

I live 20 miles from Aintree. We have had gusts of wind in excess of 50mph non stop since around 9pm last night. Easy decision not to race in my opinion.
