He ran like a plum. His jockey was carrying false confidence throughout. A bookies benefit.
He wasn't ridden as prominently today, but didn't seem much wrong with the ride. Maybe got so short as Skelton named it as his best chance today on ITV earlier and the market corrected late on. Nowadays I often lay late stable drifters and seldom get caught out doing so.
corrections late on will become more commonplace, this horse price was driven down all morning in poor liquidity

nobody mentioned that they are put in far too short to begin with so a drift is to be expected
or that some drift and win. there was one recently that went from 3/1 to 12 and won. if it had got beat the 'rancid' cry would have gone up
you could always try to lay em as short as you can in the morning and have a trade

Prob drifted post Skelton's comments to Nick which implied that horse was good but thats all .
Anyone else ever known a top yard be so corrupt though. Flat and obstacles? We only need to look at recent history in festival handicaps and market steams/drifters (day to day) to see how unplayable the Skelton yard can be. There isn't any for me that are springing to mind straight away. Maybe Joseph O'Brien?
I agree irons. I understand the smaller trainers and I understand it's part and parcel of the sport. You would like to think with the amount of winners and ammunition Skelton receives that it would be beyond him to a point. For a champion trainer and yard who are riding the crest of a wave at the minute it has happened far too often. With the fox looking after the henhouses it will continue to carry on.
