I reckon it keeps it. The second had to change course, but the fav was a worthy winner. I didn't back the winner, I layed it and cashed out in the photo, thinking it had indeed prevailed. I cannot believe that the runner up was trading so short.

steadmen keeps banging on about painful for fav backers, losing the race, how many backers % wise wont have been paid out on double result or got out of any bet at some stage on exchanges ? almost certainly more pain inflicted ob punters by steadmen treating every race as though its THE DERBY or a group one

The second is without doubt a hound, unless you want to correct me. A decent Jockey on the winner would have made that case in the Stewards. Such is life

You are betting on the Stewards opinions not the Ten Commandments. They can and do make poor decisions. You got your fingers burned at Ripon,if you remember and it didn't help you that you were right, did it?

It's a funny ol' game Saint, cuz just the other week at Newmarket, Buick was involved in an almost identical incident on a Godolphin horse when Flora Of Bermuda went to her left under James Doyle causing Buick to take a check and almost certainly costing him second place and even possibly the win.
However, on that occasion Buick was quick to get in and report to the stewards that it was in fact his mount that was responsible for the interference, and so presumably exonerating his mate Doyle of any fault, and to the astonishment of some the stewards allowed the placings to remain unaltered, which also meant that Andrew Balding got to keep a chunk of prize money which on another day he might not have done.

regardless the stewards would be a million to one to make a decision based on the 2nd having previously been placed a few times so therefore its a 'hound'.

An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race following interference approximately one furlong out, when the winner, LOTS ROAD (IRE), ridden by Rhys Clutterbuck, interfered with NOBLE PRINCE, placed second, ridden by William Buick. The Stewards considered that the interference had improved the placing of LOTS ROAD (IRE), as the colt drifted left-handed, moving NOBLE PRINCE off its intended line and causing Buick to take a check and switch around the winner, thereby losing momentum, with the winning distance at the line being a nose, the Stewards revised the placings as follows: 1st NOBLE PRINCE, 2nd LOTS ROAD (IRE), 3rd AKARAKA and 4th GIRL SCOUT. Clutterbuck was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed without sufficient correction, causing Buick to take a check and switch around the winner.
Sensible ^^^
