What are Matchbook getting for their money except the removal of one small competitor?

Looks like Matchbook only really wanted RDT and without RDT Daq was untenable.

RIP Purple. Sad

Just got the email from the Purple Exchange.  It is still a sad day to see them go, even though it's over 6 months since I've with them.  At one time they were a sanctuary from the Premium Charge and they also charged a flat rate 2% commission fee while Betfair was fleecing it's regular customers with increasingly steep commission charges.
I feel the same melancholy as when I heard that Radio Luxembourg had finally shut down, even though I hadn't listened to them for years.

will BF now be increasing commission ?

A lot of people don’t realise that **** introduced higher commission charges for customers who won too quickly (ie those who would have been “premium charged” on Betfair ). So in effect they had their own version of the PC.

I was moved onto a 10% commission rate in early 2017 and therefore, i'm not really that sad to see them go!

"2 exchanges worth of punters". Yet they've bought no accounts. WALOFS.

Wonder if there's many out there sitting on arbbed ante-post bets who are going to have their Daq bets voided. Surprised

From memory... Small stakes. No trading. No cancellation.

Does anyone know if matchbook have a trading app similar to gruss?

Gin - I have been on 25% with daq for a couple of years.

They are good for the small fields sizes, as still do 3 to place on 5 runners, and place market for 3 runners. For some reason, Bf pulled the plug on those markets a few years, considering the small field sizes are more common than in the past, I never quite figured out why they stopped those markets, especially in the depths of winter on testing tracks.

They let me stew for a few weeks and blocked my account when I tried to withdraw the bulk of it, but thankfully they paid out and unblocked me, but was a very uncomfortable couple of weeks. So the 25% was easy to take.

Just read the terms and  they haven't bought the customer database or accounts, seems a bit pointless buying it tbh as their website isn't anything special and would imagine MB have their own bet matching engines. Does it say anywhere how much they paid?
By:

When: 14 Oct 26 20:46
press release says "undisclosed"...

But yah their site is unusable for inrunning purposes as far as I can see. Defo their money and odds running the show.

They do have some sort of API but it sounds like its aimed at developers who design their own bots - but someone might know if thats the case?

This is the obvious question though, how much from the previous purple money will move over here?

With liquidity on exchanges so poor I wonder if the amount bookies hedge off on exchanges has also declined.

I asked Mark from Gruss whether they will be looking at doing a betting assistant for matchbook and I got this reponse

It wasn’t on our radar but obviously with this news we are now investigating whether or not it would be viable for us to make a Matchbook version.

We will make an announcement on social media if anything comes of it.

On MB, is there any way you can find out matched price history/graphs, or reduction factors?

If M-book thinks it's acting fairly by voiding unsettled bets, it clearly has no understanding of how gambling works.

Avoid like the plague. At some point they will do you over. Probably not deliberately, but that wouldn't be any consolation.

Wonder if we did the same thing ! There was a huge loop hole on low liquid markets. Interestingly after copping a lot of money they suspended my account then eventually paid me out whilst closing my account !
