These jockeys are fecking useless when comes to understanding horses ! They are not machines , they expect the near on impossible from horses !

Much has been made over the last couple of days about Skelton and the hold-up tactics, mainly by the very irritating Chapman. Thankfully, only Skelton and Bowen do it on a regular basis. Giving away cheap lengths in slowly run races is never a good idea, and quite often riding ex-pointers for speed in slowly run races is not a good idea. If you do it then the rest of the field are dictating the race to you. Not good, particularly on a favourite. He has got away with it a few times because Chepstow has a very long testing straight, and there have probably been a lot of unfit horses coming back to him. Obviously, that isn't always the case, and too often, the jock is going to look a mug.
very much doubt he'd get many rides without family ties.
How about the best horse won? Why would they change tactics from the horse P2P win? The 2nd favourite didn't give away so called "cheap lengths"
Three rides on favourites at the Chepstow meeting 2 wins & second. Gave that last one every chance of winning but was beaten by the better horse on the day. What's the issue here?

All those years ago when Aceform posted one of his "this wins on the snaff" posts. It pretty landed on fence at Hexham and PPKing ever the wordsmith posted YOUR HORSE APPEARS TO BE PERCHED ON A FENCE.

They went through a period a while back where everything was ridden flat out from the front, then everything was ridden from last. Then it was up in front again. Last season Harry said he couldn't understand horses being ridden out in front wasting energy (its what he used to do), now they're ridden hoping the ones in front collapse and they come there on the bridle. A few will be ridden up with the pace on occasion. For me Townend is still way ahead of anyone as a jump jockey but will have a poor ride on occasion. However most novices he rides will be out in front or up with the pace. I'd rather have that scenario myself partularly if theyre short in the betting.
