I think he was accepting second tbh until Skelton did a Skelton at the last. Bowen a very frustrating jockey to watch. Sits still most races even if the ones on front are getting away and if he's lucky to get up on the line we hear all the superlatives from the pundits. None of them will be honest and say he could have won a length without having to thrash the horse if he'd not fallen asleep during the race.

I'm not much of a jockey judge.... they're clearly both better than average - but both have helped me unburden myself of much spondoolies over the years.
