Giving it a go.

Cannot remember the last day I did not have a drink.

So probably in need of a de-tox.

Mrs B on the wagon with me too.

Sober a bad idea IMO, but cutting down very sensible. That's the way I prefer it anyway. Grin

Aye, the calories must add up if you have a few a day. I just like the taste of new world hops, mosaic, citra etc.

Good luck , barstool
I did it starting about May 2022, for a year, just to prove to the missus that I could.
Went straight back on it, but not as much, still drinking every day now
There are are some good zero beers around...the zero % Guinness is really good, about one pound a can at Tesco

March 2020 was the last time I had a beer so 6 & 1/2 years now.

I feel so much more relaxed and motivated about pretty much everything really now.
It has never bothered me at all others drinking around me especially at the races where family and friends all like sinking a good few during the day. I never think about it now, completely gone.

Has anyone ever enjoyed the taste of booze or is it all about the buzz……there are lots of alcohol drinks out there that are absolutely dreadful…

Ace, I only drink it for the taste. I don't drink enough to get a buzz. I
get four nights out of a bottle of nice red wine.

No wonder schooling conditions in these areas are poor. What teacher in their right mind would want to teach in an area where your students beat you up and burn the school down.

I felt quite refreshed this morning for a change with no thoughts of wishing I had not had a drink the night before.

Must keep going.

Some good threads above. Congrats to Slippy Blue and Eddie Batt, not just for giving up but battling through ill health as well.

Good luck at Ascot today,  hoping Monarch's Gold might nick a place at a decent price.

In terms of 'taste' I think alcohol is like a lot of strong food flavours - e.g. can anyone say they loved Stilton the first time they tasted it - most likely not, just an acquired taste eventually, similar with beers and spirits.

Lots of alcoholic drinks out there that are absolutely dreadful I agree

Your next post went from to white or bud I would struggle to think of a worse drink than bud
