We're in the area for a week & I fancy watching the horses one morning. Is it public land? Can you just park up & have a wander around?
I can see a Trig Pint on Google maps, I was thinking of heading there. Any suggestion welcome.

you can wander round near the yds , off both sides of the high st, haslams up near the castle at top end for example, and a public footpath next to his yd and castle up to a gallop but not sure how you get on to the moot gallop nwhere MJK string gallop, but you can park in middle of village and walk round the entire village inside 15/20 mins,so just ask about
Drive through the village with the castle on your left.
As you exit the village the gallop is on your right. Easy access.
If you phone some of the yards up before your visit, most will allow you to have a look about.
Its a gorgeous village and area.
