If they had an ourider they could have brought Hornby's horse to the start on time.

how come the stall one was on the outside.

Must be something to do with course configuration but surely stall 1 should have been on the inside rail.

Just realised. They start in the straight in reverse direction to the finish. So although the first

part of the race is left handed most is right handed.

That, then, brings the  distance races at the likes of - Hamilton, Salisbury, and Windsor into the equation.

PS: - Not forgetting 'Ally Pally' Alexandra Park - of course. 

Chelmsford 2024 stalls left on track because tractor wouldn't start. Mishaps averted and no-one injured with jockeys commended for their quick thinking.
