To placate the worldpool, Goodwoods 2m5f handicap that kicks off todays racing will be run using starting stalls for the first time.
Obviously not a heritage handicap then.

The Worldpool organizers have probably witnessed some of the messed up starts that are often happening

in jumps racing.

The ridiculously loud tannoy system (common now to most racecourses) isn't going to help the loading process.

If they had an ourider they could have brought Hornby's horse to the start on time.

Must be something to do with course configuration but surely stall 1 should have been on the inside rail.

Just realised. They start in the straight in reverse direction to the finish. So although the first

part of the race is left handed most is right handed.

That, then, brings the  distance races at the likes of - Hamilton, Salisbury, and Windsor into the equation.

Interesting.

Chelmsford 2024 stalls left on track because tractor wouldn't start. Mishaps averted and no-one injured with jockeys commended for their quick thinking.
