Said no chance and put phone down re rang number an hour later and some dodgy voicemail answered.

I wonder where the potential "scammer" got OP's phone number? WillHill has been such a shambles recently a "data incident" like betfair's wouldn't be impossible. Maybe OP was one of the accounts in the betfair "data incident"

That doesn't say phone numbers but I wouldn't imagine that it would be difficult to trace them using the data stolen.

I think the Gambling Commission will need to be informed. 'Billie' will need to make a statement on the matter to explain and placate the concerns of their clients.
