Daily Mail Sport understands Egan was the subject of criticism from his bosses for his ride aboard the Charlie Johnston-trained Ancient Egypt, a 22-1 outsider when runner-up in the Group 1 Cygames Grand Prix de Paris last week.

It's hard to see imo what Egan did wrong (other than not win!), beaten a head having held every chance, outrunning his odds in the process.

Set up similar to Chelsea FC.

I don't understand why Amo seem to blame jockeys all the time. They don't use top tier trainers. Bloodstock purchases don't work out. Funny how they seem to overpay at the sales. Maybe look at the foundations first. Look at Wathnan. Similar profile but far more successful.

Because they are trying to create a breeding operating from activity in the sales ring. Pretty hard that, coolmoore themselves paid 6 million for a flop in the paddocks.

Wathnam Racing have a bottomless pit of cash, no comparison....

Wathnan have focused heavily on buying proven horses. Amo paid 2 million for Ghostwriter, apparently on the recommendation of Kia's 14yo son

Wasn't Rossa Amo's No.1 a few seasons back? So, now he's good enough to ride for them again? Yet another kneejerk reaction from, Kia. You've seen him do this before with jockeys and trainers and you can be sure he'll do it again. How much longer does De Foy have as Amo's main Trainer?

Its how Amo is being funded / financed that causes the greatest concern. Hedging huge amounts of finance from American private equity firm, Apollo Global Management.

Kia is now owing around £55m at an interest rate of upto 10.25% apparently.

This is highly unlikely to end well.

Wheres the 5.6 million a year coming from to repay the loan? Not prize money thats for sure. Or is he just borrowing more to repay the debt, which can only end in tears.
