Standard UK sentencing guidelines require offenders given sentences under four years to serve half of their term in custody. This means she is scheduled for release by Christmas 2027, not 2026.

I hope the murderer's mother serves at least two years from the date of her imprisonment. Then deported to The Punjab, if not born in the UK. Hopefully, the entire family too. The murderer could only have acted in this abhorrent manner eg knifing another individual, lying about it and leaving the individual to die, if the family environment was that way inclined.

He's appealing the 21 on account of it being too long.

I'd have charged his mum for manslaughter and given her a minimum 5 years. Her son lied to the police officers while Nowak was dying; his mum chose to hide the knife instead of calling an ambulance.

Wrap them in orange and serve 155 years…..think twice before abusing…..the tribal call and letter box should also carry a heavy penalty….

Three new prisons required…..basic….no visit…guards scanned each shift……immediate dismissal if found wanting…..

It does once again come down to the CPS. Assisting an offender is ordinarily lower key stuff, hiding someone or washing their clothing. It seems to me this should have been perverting the course of justice. Which carries a maximum of life sentence.
