I've always liked Nevison, but he now looks and acts like someone who has the lights on but nobody's home.
I take pundits with a pinch of salt, it makes no difference to me what they put up really but someone should tell him to call it a day. |

This is a sub channel where the full price is £29.98. Subscribers are definitely entitled to question their production decisions. I don't care for his tips, but anyone they put on a broadcast should be switched on, cogent and informed with their analysis. He continually trots out the line that he is not too interested in stakes races, just big field handicaps. So his analysis of the good no handicaps is forced, and quite evident. Anyone is free to disagree with my observations, but that is not really supplied. All you get is that he is a good bloke, successful in the past and has a nice house. nine of which qualifies you to be a pundit on the premium racing channel for all of the major festivals. lol. |

I'm not blaming Nev, he seems to enjoy collecting the money for little effort. Actually, complacency leads to the kind of mistakes and casual effort we see from him. Good on him. I am quite evidently pointing my ire squarely at the producers. It's not their only odd production choice, and I have criticised those, too.

The employment of Nevison along with many more seems to confirm to some of us that there's a ready made opening at Racing TV for anyone down on their luck so to speak,didn't Nevison reappear after Bodugi went bust?
Nobody ever seems to leave yet more & more faces seem to appear and it's a comfortable retirement home for ex jocks as long as your face fits,Jacob being the latest addition. I can only presume they're awash with money from their bookmaker friends? |

The question is how did this totally unqualified shyster get on to the platforms he now enjoys. Two days ago, I looked at his selections (there were 3, two at 7/2 and the salvage heroic choice at 13/8. All three lost, one was last of 8! This guy, attempting to adopt a slightly eccentric personality is a disgrace and should be warned off, can't take either racing channel who employs this dross seriously. Get rid of the snake-oil salesmen that are allowed to infest the Racing channels!

you only have to listen to THE CATAIN,bigging up winners put up by anyone on the station,EW selection getting placed when their not a tip just something put up rather than putting the jolly up,out running their prices etc ,maybe THE CAPTAIN is getting a cut from tipping line etc as well as his cut from RACING IQ DATA

Yes RTV are following the MO of the RP, if you have loads of people tipping lots of horses every day, there will always be something to blow the trumpets over.
However, anyone can have bets or tips run like drains. Personally it's Nev's complacency that I object to, every single time he is on he makes some kind of big clanger, never knows what he has tipped, he's just basically coasting and relies on knowing about a small pool of horses so doesn't need to do any homework. That non runner yesterday was taken out at 9 in the morning or summat. But he is a permanent fixture in the studio for any decent cards on the channel. It's completely illogical, I have nothing against him personally I'd be saying this about any broadcaster in such an apparent locked in, gold plated position where the performance is so out of kilter with that status. Steve Mellish has far more tolerance than I would, having to make way for king nev and he is left with the preview and post meeting analysis. |
