Yes, so my suspicion was correct there too.
It's possible they have been turned over, and flipped the car without doing a deep dive. As you say it's in very good condition. I'm pretty sure my dealer just flipped the TTS, but I was comfortable with that after doing my research and reviewing the extensive paperwork. If it was me, I would give the dealer the opportunity to make good (assuming you like the car otherwise). |

The odd part obviously is passing the MOT locally, if the problems are so obvious. It doesn't strike me as a dodgy dealer though.

My check say a v5 issued in 2012, could have been lost but if you looked at v5 and it say one previous owner, means you are now 3rd.You could be looking at original v5 or misreading one previous owner as one owner. Did you do a full check via HPI check?

Try and get refunded before he takes car away and cancel tax ASAP.
Threaten with bad review and reporting to vosa on mot. And matter of interest how many prev owners does car have on v5? He now has problem of another owner showing although he has prob held onto the old v5c, think the dealers hold onto them for a month for this exact reason, vehicle returned under CRA 2015 but if he hasn't then he will be waiting for you to return new v5c and may try and use that as an excuse to delay refund. Take it you taxed it off the green slip? |

Said he will refund when his transport people have inspected the car to ensure its not been damaged.
It's in a locked car park and I won't unlock gates until payment made. V5 shows two owners - 2nd one was 6 months after car was registered - poss. a demo car? Was taxed at dealers when bought. |

thats how car sales works dave..buy cars from an auction,get then delivered..clean them..inspect them..add 20-40% and advertise.

Yes, it's a tough job for the straight ones. Very thin margins and persistent customers, coming back after 6 months of driving on the clutch for example.
I sold a car to a dealer via Carwow, so I know the car was near perfect condition for age and mileage. Had a screen chip repair but behind the rear view mirror, so only the passenger view impacted. The original alloys were looking tired due to age (not kerbing!) so could have done with a refurb. He'd took loads of pictures and was up for sale on his site the next day after collection. |

I feel (from the evidence shared) that atn's dealer isn't a wrong 'un, but perhaps took short cuts. If the vehicle looks as good as the OP says, and drives well, he might have just chucked it through a MOT for sale, and not lifted it or done a thorough go over. It will cost him, now. The one niggle of course is how it passed the MOT (if it was a straight one).

One crowd of dealers I would certainly give a wide berth,they tend to do MOT…..very persuasive……you know the ones tbh…..corner shops too….
