BBC "coverage" of racing not any better On sports bit this morning that Hollins bloke said that Aiden O Brien had RIDDEN his 100th RA winner yesterday, and then about a bet of 100k on Scandinavia yesterday at 5/2 had by a lucky punter...firstly, not sure 5/2 was ever available, unless Ante Post, returned 11/8, secondly, obviously a pro punter, not some lucky punter landing a multiple Obviously got no dedicated Horse Racing people any more, just getting a junior to knock up some text to read out
Surprised they even squeezed any sport in, with all the fawning over Andy Burnham this morning

If any Savile Row tailors read the forum, there must be a huge market for evening dress incorporating ice packs like Formula One uses. Fans in top hats too (less for the F1 drivers!).

Reg -Simon Nott's report yesterday (as Wingerwanger) said "OK, so like London buses, no sooner had the firm got a chunk of the first two days’ losses back, they were asked for and accepted a bet that could put them right back in it or pretty much have them level, not in this race but the Gold Cup, £300,000 – £120,000 Scandinavia." Could be a City type to who £120000 is the same as £50 to most of us . Off topic -what do those who queue to enter at 10.30 do until about 14.00?

Intrigued to know who is paying Ken. No disrespect to the fella. I can see he is employed by ITV Racing and Wiliam Hill Radio. Nobody listens to William Hil Radio, so they can't be throwing much at him. So how much are ITV paying him, when nobody is taking any notice of a thing he says.
If he comes out and says I liked the look of the 40/1 shot, and it bolts up. Take it all back but thats not happening.

Cheers Manoleeds, yeah looks like the 120k bet on Scandinavia at 5/2 was genuine, I was questioning more the "lucky punter" tag, which suggests someone having a fiver acca on 6 horses and winning big, not a high roller having, as you say, a normal bet
