I was there for half an hour. My £1 was the only bet taken on a Saturday with 10 meetings, the World Cup, hundreds of pretend races, dogs, cricket , tennis etc. only one other person in. Surely the shop will close soon. I never expected the terrible language would be from the staff.

It's the norm. And when you see odds of 8-13 10-11 in a "heads or tails" market its no wonder. The green mob think its OK to go in the lowest scoring team in world cup... 2 7-2 7-2 7-2 4 4 9-2 5 5 6 etc. Worst percentage I've EVER seen. Who is the nutcase in charge of allowing such odds????

Never saw more than about 3 punters max. Usually none.

I think 40% of the bookies are surplus to requirement. Their reluctance to accept bets and the alternative online are making their existence on the high streets difficult to justify.

Regarding staff - mate of mine was a betting shop manager decades ago and he has tales of what slappers and degenerates the female staff were!  PLUS CA CHANGE as they say across LA MANCHE.
