Possibly the greatest and most honest jockey of our lifetime. If he is on a fav it wins, 2nd fav either wins or is second,   never lets punters down.  I get it some people don't like him, but he is the Messi of horse racing.

would agree he's a top jockey
actually its outside the top 3 in the betting you'd have done best in the long run
...by a big margin

The number of trainers who book him every day confirms what they think. In my view he has gone up a level this year so far. Just hope he can keep focussed on riding.

@ sageform  ........  that has always been the issue,  but when he's on it, he's on it. Not so much Messi, but George Best. I really don't understand why the flagshaggers hate him so much  ?

I like him, and he is good for racing. Talks to the fans and is informative.

Why are so many jockeys named Oisin? Was there a tv heartthrob called Oisin in Ireland a couple of decades ago? (Presumably many Harrys were named after HRH.)

Oisín is a celebrated figure in Irish mythology, renowned as a warrior and the greatest poet of the Fianna. The son of the legendary Fionn mac Cumhaill and the fairy queen Sadhbh, his name translates to "little deer"

I'm hoping he wins on Harry Knows, 2.48.

He's a 'binary' jockey - great or awful - play Russian roulette at to which one you will get if backing his rides. Plus, he is overbet, so shorter prices often.

I'm never sure if posts like this are serious - why follow a jockey, given they vary so much, and level stakes profit...? hah, fat chance.

Agree about overbet which is true of any of the top riders flat and jumps. You have 3 choices. Carry on following, be selective or lay them. Your choice. How overbet are Skelton's? The tipping comps confirm to me that betting very short prices give you a very high strike rate but not much profit. The sweet spot for me is between 2/1 and 6/1. At least the tipping comp does not cost you real money.

Not one for me. A few shorties without a Plan B despite heading toward a cul-de-sac.

To me at times he seemed to be just switched on for that particular moment eg being interviewed on air immediately after the race. Anyway, he's not one for me. He's done well since his traffic incident. Good luck to him.

Clearly a top class.

Do the fangirls miss his rides like the three beaten favourites in a row at Epsom recently, or just watch when he's winning (cheerleaders)? Grin

His support is basically akin to those who 'follow' Bowen around over jumps - seem to go blind when he rides the awful rides...

Jockeys lose more often than they win,StuLaugh

I agree with that irons, but even more reason not to become a jockey fangirl over a particular one...
By:

If I fancy a horse and he is riding it is certainly not a negative.
If I don't fancy one there is no Jockey born that would make me back it
By:

When: 09 Jun 26 15:45
Level stakes profit is easiest way to judge whether he's worth following. and that has a minus after his rides...
By:

When: 09 Jun 26 15:46
Fair enough to compare it to others I suppose, but not really worth bothering for a profit reason.

big priced winners skew LSP figures
also the more rides a jockey has the harder it is for a punter to overcome the overround

before today...
9959 UK/ire rides w/o a claim, 1779 winners
proportional staking to match £10, BSP used & ignoring commission (for reasons stated above) gives stakes 17375.56, p/l +399.45, roi +2.3%

big sample & no skew
By:
wondersobright
When: 09 Jun 26 16:26
pl markets for even less variance
9908 UK/ire markets with pl market, riding w/o a claim, 4303 places
same method as above stakes 41797.93, p/l +1217.07, roi +2.9%

legit top jockey

ignoring commission would many other jockeys also show a positive though? That makes it a lot easier of course.

only do it to present clean data for comparison purposes stu
although oisin is still profitable in win & pl markets after 2% comm
