Superb. WAC Chapman really is. 'In many ways your first REAL classic winner although you won the Irish St.Leger'.
By:
Run at Navan was great on the eye. Unreal.
By:
I think she's a very good filly. Irish Oaks next, I'd think, then The ARC possibly.
By:
Brilliant ride , threaded his way through after Tattenham , from last place initially . Most of the others did not stay , Thundering on certainly did.
By:
Yep.
Impressive is a slightly overused word in racing - but that one fits the bill for sure. |
By:
A good adjective for Mick's ego.
By:
I think last time I felt that impressed by a racing performance was watching Frankel
By:
By:
By:
And without Thundering On in the race we'd have all been blown away by Legacy Link.
By:
Fair enough lafs. In name only. So its not a classic then.
By:
pundits already spent hr,s discussing derby horses handling epsom and there,ll be another 4 hrs,but they never mention oaks horse,s handling the track or any of the over 100 + horses,2 yr old, handicappers, stake ,group 1 winners who,ll come down the hill before THE DERBY is run
By:
Lots of people getting carried away by the winner here, let's see how she gets on later in the season.
It didn't look the greatest of renewals beforehand and there were some that obviously didn't stay and/or act on the ground. |
By:
It's not a real classic. Real classics are restricted to 3yo. There's nothing unreasonable about the comment, unless you take personal offence as an Irish warrior

Judge Judy next.
By:
I was impressed by the way it both stayed and showed excellent quickening in the finish. Takes some doing in a race that caused several to weaken and against another that had pulled clear of the field.
If people think that was eye candy, fair enough, but would be very interested to see it run again (and the price)! |
By:
Cider I appreciate you watch for my posts so you can find some fault. As I said if its not a 'real' classic fair enough. Maybe someone should tell the organisers to call it a 'pretend' classic instead.
By:
Only the jingoistic ones, Mick.
By:
The Irish St Leger has been open to older horses since 1983. I thought it was a lot sooner, but 43 years ago it was.
By:
Cider not that I care what you think but my original point was actually re Chapman being Chapman and having to get his dig in first instead of just interviewing the lad. I couldn't care less if the leger was in Japan.
By:
It is only in your mind,MJK.
Most people just want the best horse to win whoever Trains them |
By:
No idea what youre talking about. I'm just referring to Chapman and nobody else.
By:
You see racism where others don't,MJK.
By:
Have you got dementia?
By:
If I did I wouldn't be able to answer, you dipstick
![]() |
By:
You seem to be answering something in your own head, not my point about Chapman. Clearly not well.
By:
Ok.
That the Irish St Leger is a classic is a farce |
By:
I would agree. But my original point was that Chapman had no need to get his dig in. Secondly, whether you or I want it to be or not it is.
By:
It was Typical Chapman who picks easy targets to be noticed
By:
Agree, the Chapman jibe was unnecessary and rude. He could just have left it as the jockey's 2nd classic, and his first at Epsom, which itself is a feat for any jockey, wherever they are from.
