its always been with decorum for me...even in the 80s in a packed bookmaker, little or no emotion.....it was tiresome listening to all those bores in the bookies, saying every jockey was bent, when the favourite got turned over....and they couldnt even see the race.....

Rather depends on the winner. When a horse I owned 35% of won at Cheltenham, I ran from the members lawn to the paddock and nearly flattened a lady who didn't look amused. If I back a winner among 4 or 5 losers on TV, I hardly react at all.

You've got to take some 'pleasure' from a winner, or we should all find a different form of employ/hobby.
Even those who just want to make money should really be at least partly enjoying this - otherwise, there are far better jobs to be doing than this pursuit, that would pay better or as much for less effort.
Personally, I've always loved betting and racing/sport watching, so wouldn't choose to do anything else with my available time. These days I try to avoid massive 'highs' at winning though - because it just leads to 'lows' when you are losing. So, I have no specific celebration, other than the odd small 'get in' I whisper after a race or win!

The best ones are when the race pans out exactly as I saw it in my mind, and from the price I know I saw something others didn't. When that happens I like to lie in a hot bath and wallow in self satisfaction. Last one was in 1992.

steer - yes, though, the 'wallowing' in satisfaction is a sort of slow celebration I sometimes do after a very good day's results. But trying not to wallow in annoyance/worry after the very bad days is the tricky other side of things.
