So finally two horses were taken out today that could have been removed at the last forfeit stage along with Montreal.
Nice play Not Nice Guy Aiden!

7 remain entered for Epsom.

“First of all you are hoping you get there and then just hope they run good races. So we’re happy with the horses for Epsom and we’re thinking of running the horses that finished second and third in the Dante (Action and Christmas Day) along with the Chester Vase winner (Benvenuto Cellini) and Pierre Bonnard.

I guess it’s handy to have able replacements for pacemakers when making the entries! Laugh

One of the pacemakers won the derby big price

So sections and tips all welcome, as are opinions, can anyone talk me into having a bet this year?

Know All - any you can see doing that this year?

It’s a week out, let’s get this race sorted! Happy

I think he will have 4 or 5 and Ryan dosent usually get it right with what he picks.  It’s just on the day and which handles the course best, they will be all spot on for the day, you should know by now to bet them all win only

I do not think the winner will be a big price. I think the winner will come from one of the principals eg Ben, Item, Pierre and Bay. It would not surprise me if AOB replicates his French Derby achievement. His charges are well capable.

I think AOB will run 4 or more to manage Item and others.

Hannon knocking in the winners today, so what's 250-1 Alderman doing in the Derby?  Still lightly raced and I see Terimon was the biggest placer at 500/1 in '89.

Do you remember Voyage for the same owner in City Of Troy’s Derby?

Unseated coming out of the stalls, then ran in the King George behind Calandagan came 13th, owner likes a day out.

There was a lot of upset when Noddy’s Way ran in the Derby because of his low rating, if owners are paying the entry fees then the Jockey Club are happy.

Think you need a 80 rating. He's only 1LB lower than the Balding horse, A Taste Of Glory.

Mojo Star was a Mdn,he only had 2 outings. That 80 rating maybe wrong.

I remember that name but not the form had to look it up, 2nd in the Derby 50/1!

Only won the 1 race from 9, an outlier!

He ran some good races in defeat,2ND in the Leger,I backed him in that.
Also 2ND btn 1/2L by Kyprios in the Gold Cup.Think he was retired injured.
Could've been a smart horse.

Did Ben not get stuck on unsuitable ground in The Futurity when fav? Pierre is more effective on slower ground, I believe.

Winter fav Pierre B for me. Fat as an elephant on his first run and AOB now saying he's a different horse since his second run, and seems bullish about his chances.

Guaranteed stayer as well.

Don't think 8/1 will be available on the day.

If memory serves AOB said the same about The Lion In Winter. I hope Pierre recaptures his 2 yr old form at Epsom on saturday.

F*** off Delamoron and imbecile123
Between you dual handedly have ruined which should have been a sounding place of intelligent discussion.
One is an autistic self obsessed prat, and the other is an insult to anyone with glimmer of horseracing knowledge.

It’s no wonder, there is less and less good conversation on here as there was 20 years ago, when threads get polluted continuously by the lowest of the low.

Not ideal for my Precise bet.  - are you sure that she’s going to show?

Who have you backed for the Derby?

Is that to everyone?

Feel uninspired by the field, I can’t take the odds for Bonnard having been beaten twice and Ben doesn’t excite me.

Yes, it doesn't look great, but no doubt we will get deluge of people saying the complete opposite. Don't think the French was either. Didn't think the 2yo's last year were that brilliant either, but the form has held up, so maybe successive duff years?

I would like to see plenty more rain as well, but at the moment no bet. The top two probably don't want testing ground, and is the third in good enough? If we get more rain, I might throw a big priced dart. At the moment we don't know the ground, or the jocks, although the latter is not always telling where O'Brien is concerned. Also a fair chance four places may be offered.

The more rain the less likely she will show.
Drifting all the time.
Looking unlikely at the moment.

How about an AOB first name treble? Amelia, Jan, and Pierre

brandy -it's more likely Precise goes straight to the Coronation, regardless of the weather

Bookmakers busy trimming up anything with any soft ground form. If it dries up will they push them back out? Difficult if you want to play an outsider as the difference in a price cut is so much bigger.
