When Richard Nixon made his phone call to the moon there was no delay in conversation.
it takes over a 1.5 seconds for light to travel from the moon to earth.(speed of light)

Debatable they got to the moon. Tin can, val doonican radiation belt. more processing power in a mobile phone than in the tin can. fo0k all there in any case. There’s only the rare minerals there that means China and the US have now a new Space race to harvest them as is happening here! Oh and Pump formed the Space Force in his first term not for threats against Aliens but to protect the wealth waiting to be harvested there!  |

Brass neck I didn’t see it before my time but I’ve wondered how they managed reception back then when I can’t even get a line in my house here in the countryside, oh the three foot thick walls of this old house!
Motorola sure benefitted from being used back then! Their Razor flip phone in the 90’s was something like out of Startrek  By the way Anne the chaser said once on there that the Americans DID land despite claims that they didn’t because the Russians were tracking them with satellites and it’s documented. You’ll have to call IT guy for any other tech issues I’m afraid.  By the way I haven’t checked Anne’s statement or looked at when the first satellites were launched, maybe my memory of what she said is incorrect on that technical aspect? But I do recall she said the Russians were tracking and it’s why they threw the towel in after. |

OP wonders why there was no phone delay between Nixon and the moon.

Re Brassneck's perennial complaints about rotating horses, although Betfair does this sometimes, my guess is his actual problem is Betfair's screen re-drawing after a bet is placed in order to add details of the bet.
This means that while horses' relative order is maintained, their absolute position on the screen changes so that anyone making rapid bets under the pub table has a high chance of backing the wrong horse *after the first bet*. |

The more interesting point about the phone call to the moon is that President Nixon said he was in the "Oval Room". Nowadays they call it the "Oval Office". When did it change? Why did it change? Did aliens change it?
