I have never made money punting at this time of the year. So this year I won't bet on the flat until the guineas meeting. As for the jumps I will stop after the Scottish national. Good two weeks off to review trackers and watch plenty of videos of back end 2025 maidens. Nottingham etc.

What's everyone else's approach at this time of the year?

Look at maidens in a different way. Identify which trainers are happy to run their unraced 2yo and 3yos on the AW tracks and which seem to prefer to wait for the turf. there are bout 10-15 GB flat trainers who are likely to have some classy unraced horses ready to run from now on. John Gosden is one of them as Portcullis showed yesterday. No I didn't back it. I still find 3yo maidens the most profitable category at this time of the year. Also remember that the correlation between 2yo rating and 3yo rating is not that great so don't get sucked into taking short prices about high rated horses based on their 2yo form.
