When does this guy give up riding in chases….he is absolutely woeful. Never seems to present a horse at a fence on the right stride pattern. His ride in the Topham was as bad as it gets and just watching him that 3 runner race there…pathetic. Nichols knew it a few years ago and is making a big mistake.

He isn't that reliable over hurdles. Been worthy of the squiggle for a long time. Nicholls should have gone with the best available.
Said before that Tizzard will never move forward while Powell is the stable jock. Will always be second division. Messed up badly on Fairy Park at Aintree, and again on a short price for the same owner today. Fortunate they didn't show the replay.

Does seem an odd choice for Pumpkin, seems a very short term appointment.
